Atishay | 1451 comments I've posted some new posts at http://www.bloggingatishay.wordpress.com under the title 'If God will send his angels'. Its a story I've been working on in an on off manner lately. Please tell me what all of you think about it. :)

Those pictures are amazing! I could never eat those cakes - they're like works of art :)

Jill (wanderingrogue) | 329 comments It depends. Most of those cakes are made for looking at, not eating. Depending on the kind, fondant (the main sculpting material) can be either extremely tasty or extremely nasty. I've been told that lots of really high end bakeries that do cakes like that provide sheet cakes for the event as well. It's the sheet cakes that actually get eaten.

Stephanie (sbez05) | 556 comments Yeah, that's probably true. Wouldn't be quite as pretty to look at as the night wore on if people were cutting into it!

Yup. Your basic one layer rectangular cake. Common at office parties. ;)

Stephanie (sbez05) | 556 comments Like just a simple cake without all the frills - basically a standard flat cake like you can pick up at the grocery store.

Stephanie (sbez05) | 556 comments Wow - that's elaborate! I would think you'd have to lay it down to cut it or it would all fall apart, but I guess that shows how much I know about cakes. ;)

Elizabeth (Alaska) Several years ago, we had a cake for a woman's 80th birthday that was the top part of a woman's body. Can I say here that there were 2 pink gumdrops in the (ahem) appropriate places?

I love a blog that can best be described as the anti-'pinkcakebox'
http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/
It's horrifically hysterical.

Nikki Boisture | 121 comments I write a blog where I re-read books from my youth and recap them from my now-adult perspective. It's at http://whatireadbackthen.blogspot.com. I read a lot of blogs that are similar along with some other book review blogs. They're listed on my blogroll in my blog's sidebar. Also I read a few "mom" blogs. Dooce (www.dooce.com) is my favorite.
