Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Some characters just amaze me for their emotional fortitude!! They go through crap, or they've been dealt an awful hand by fate, and they still are so resilient and made of pure awesomeness!

This thread is for those characters :)

message 5: by Mishma (new)

Mishma I agree with Clara.
I loved Aria from Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi .She is probably my favourite heroine ever.

message 6: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Lisbeth Salander of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson , she is strong and kick-ass. She may be abused but it didn't let her down. She fights those people no matter what to get justice and learns to trust people who are supporting her battles in life.

Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Having just finished Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer today, I really have to say that Cinder is incredibly emotionally strong. To me she was an vast improvement on the traditional Cinderella character!

message 8: by Erin (new)

Erin Latimer | 73 comments I loved Cinder, she was certainly a strong female character. I want to buy the next one!

I agree with Jona, Clara is the best female heroine I've ever read about, throughout all books. Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand Hallowed (Unearthly, #2) by Cynthia Hand Boundless (Unearthly, #3) by Cynthia Hand

Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Tessa from Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare
She's without her family, in a strange country, held captive, faced with the strange reality of her true nature, and the boy she likes confuses the hell out of her.

message 13: by Greta (new)

Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Tessa again! I just finished Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare and I really felt for her and how her (view spoiler) is a total burden. I LOVE that she is willing to love again in the epilogue.

Megan (megandurrence) | 7 comments I like so many! A lot have already been said, but I'll put my own thoughts in :P

Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi Aria has to be one of the strongest. I agree, she had a lot of reason to give up, but she always kept going!

Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth Tris. Where to begin?! If you haven't read the whole series yet, I recommend that you do. She has to be the most brave, selfless, strong female lead I've ever read about! She was like the energizer bunny and just kept going and going... nothing ever stopped her! Three cheers for Tris!

Something Witchy This Way Comes (Something Witchy, #1) by Veronica Blade I LOVE the way Tessa just rolls with the punches! Her life turns upside down and yet she still stood strong. She didn't have to lean on the Hero in the story for support, she was independent and smart! Love this book!

Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee This is a gem of a book. I CANNOT wait until the next comes out (12 days!!!!) to read more of Penryn and her struggles. She has had to get down and dirty and work with the enemy to fight for her sister. She will do anything for that little girl. Seriously can't wait for World After!!

Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1) by Richelle Mead I think Sydney has had to be a very strong lead character. She's had to get out of her comfort zone more times than I can count and put on a bright smile as if nothing is wrong. Sydney is extremely brave and smart, the kind of character you can only wish to be!
