Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Normally, when I delete an edition, the page which opens is the book page for the most popular edition with which the deleted edition had been combined and there's a message at the top telling me how many reviews had been merged. Right? And I've seen that message telling me that 0 reviews were merged.

Today either I just happened to notice for the first time what happens when an unshelved (not merely shelved-but-unrated) edition is deleted or there's new behavior: the page which opens is my homepage with a message saying "That book has been deleted." It's only happening with unshelved books -- I tested this with a fake book record -- and unshelved books with no ISBN numbers really are the records which can be completely deleted in safety, but it still freaked me out. Is it new? Am I the only one? :)

That's always what happens when an uncombined edition is deleted.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments But these are combined books! Er, which I didn't explicitly mention, did I?

Then it shouldn't do that. ;)

I wonder if this is because of the fix to the deletion error we were getting?

I didn't think so!

I'm still getting the deletion error, though....
