Savanes | 2107 comments Tell us where you go to get "the love"! ;)

message 2: by Savanes (new)

Savanes | 2107 comments AMAZON, the best (especially since I own a kindle).

Lynn | 4466 comments Mod
Yup, Amazon for me too because with just one click on the kindle the book is bought!

message 4: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Amazon and Half Price Books. Half Price Books is awesome, find lots of gems on their shelves and love their clearance section. I have a Kindle but I still prefer the feel of a book over it.

message 5: by Savanes (new)

Savanes | 2107 comments If I was a US resident, I would definitely use Over-Drive to get ebooks from my local library. What a shame, French people are really narrow minded when it comes to ebooks. They feel threatened by modernity/ebooks instead of embracing it/them! :(

message 6: by Patty (new)

Patty (pepperrn) | 39 comments amazon, barnes and noble, used book stores, books a million, library and anywhere i can get my hands on them

message 7: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments Indigo/Coles, my local library, used book stores and Over-Drive (we have it here in Canada Vanessa!)

message 8: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen | 38 comments Amazon, Barnes and noble, and my local library of course

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

i get my books through amazon, abebook, alibris and some other site.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Barns and Nobles and the library. :) I love buying books than renting them. :)

Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or the library.

message 12: by Nicolette (new)

Nicolette (cocopuff09120) I go to my local Half Price Books about once a week and check out the sale section for every genre. I can almost always find at least 2 popular books for under $2.00 a piece. I'm always finding crazy deals on great books when I shop there.
If I'm actually looking for a specific book and it isn't at HPB I shop on Amazon.
My mother-in-law also works at B&N and will pick up books for me. I get a lot of education books and newer books this way. She is so wonderful!

message 13: by Christine (new)

Christine (christinekinsella) | 25 comments I'm almost exclusively a Kindle reader - soooo...Amazon and the public library are my two favorite places to "browse" I also have a few book blogs to help me find something interesting...

You're so lucky!!!!

I heard tuebl is good to find free ebooks but I'm not sure it's legal.

message 15: by Julie (new)

Julie | 14 comments I troll many places to feed my addiction! The library is a good source as I will put new books on hold. I also frequent Half Price Books, Amazon of course and my dad's bookshelves.

If anyone here is from Arizona, the public library is now renting Nooks.

Tracy, I have the regular kindle and I love it. However, it's only for reading. If you want something more in the line of an iPad, i would recommend Kindle fire...

message 17: by Lynn, Moderator (new)

Lynn | 4466 comments Mod
Tracy - A Kindle Fire is MUCH cheaper than something like an ipad, it's what I have and I've had no problems with it. In fact I love it.

message 18: by Chris (new)

Chris Wikman | 39 comments I buy almost from anywhere. Garage Sales, second hand stores, Superstore (Grocery Store), Costco... mostly from Chapters, or Amazon when I buy in large quantities... I try to always get Hardcover, 1st editions...

message 19: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat I get most of my books from the library as well. I only buy those books that I really would like to have a permanent copy of.

message 20: by Nidia (new)

Nidia (thatgirlreads) | 16 comments Since we no longer have a bookstore in town after the demise of Waldenbooks, I purchase books from thrift stores and from Friends of the Library sales. E-books I purchase electronically on my devices--from Kobo for my ereader and from Amazon or Barnes & Noble for my Kindle Fire.

message 21: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 18 comments I am not a fan of e-readers, and I plan on being the last reader of paper books in the world. I get most of my books from the library. Books I love I will then try to buy at used book stores or garage sales. Couple times a year, I do put in orders through Amazon for new books that get routinely high reviews and I can't wait for

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I always try to find an ebook before I go to a bookshop. Of course I visit library sometimes, but actually I've got too many books on my bookshelves to read. Only if I found sth really special , then I'd borrow it.

message 23: by Derek (new)

Derek Dewitt (memefactory) Anywhere I can. I can scarcely go past a bookshop without popping in...and now, the Kindle...well....I have a LOT of books....

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Overdrive.com

message 25: by Jenni (new)

Jenni (jcarlene) Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and sometimes BJ's.

message 26: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Szewczuk Barnes & Nobles since I have a Nook.

message 27: by Carla (new)

Carla (Carla's Book Bits) (carlasbookbits) I'm a student atm, so unfortunately, I can't spend money on a lot of books even if I wanted to. :'(

I usually just get books from the library, unless I find a book that I really really love and need to own.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Ebay, amazon and book depository.com. Book depository is generally cheaper than both but occasionally amazon is cheaper and amazon and ebay are the ones which also sell rare out of print books.

I don't think I saw www.smashwords.com mentioned. If you are an e reader there are free books and many $0.99 books.

Library, Amazon, BAM, Barnes and Noble

message 31: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Owen (mel5brady) | 3 comments Amazon.com, yard sea and thrift stores. I love a good hard copy find, though I tend to read a lot more of the electronic books lately.

message 32: by Trish (new)

Trish Ladowski | 11 comments I get my books from two libraries. I just joined and I'm loving Goodreads. It sure helps to find out about books I may be interested in.

message 33: by Bess (new)

Bess I get books from Costco, paperback swap and YMCA.
A

message 34: by Katherine (new)

Aisyah Azalia (ichaazalia) | 8 comments I get my books form bookstore and school library...

message 36: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1467 comments I download ebooks from Amazon for my Kindle and buy some new, but I get most my books from Goodwill for 2-3bucks. And they r always in good but mostly great condition.

message 37: by Sandra (last edited Mar 20, 2013 09:15PM) (new)

Sandra Driste-macdonald | 6 comments I buy almost all of my books at Half Price Bookstore. Sometimes I end up buying them at Target if I see one I just have to have.

message 38: by Amanda (new)

Amanda L. (awikstrand) Half price books, B&N, Costco, Amazon, garage sales, and small local used book stores.

My favorite local used book store is Underground Adventures in Richland WA. My folks live there and we never leave town without stoping. I usually binge on book purchases there - great selection and fun shop.

message 39: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarahcball) I have a Barnes and Nobles card so i get my books there :D but if i'm sketchy about a book then i check it out at the library if i like it, then i will buy it :D
I am obsessed with buying books :D

message 40: by Alycia (new)

Alycia (bookhound18) I get hard copy books from used book stores, library book sales and eBay for the most part. I NEVER pay full retail for my books. However, for Christmas this last year, I got a Nook and now I read almost exclusively on it. I now get most my books from the library lending service Overdrive, B&N's sale books and Books On Board!

message 41: by Jodell (new)

Jodell (jodell59) Amazon used if possible, Barns Noble, Goodwill, Library, Flea Market. I also donate my books after I read them to the Library or VA Hospital, and my magazines to the dr offices..

message 42: by monet (new)

monet (s4ge) | 47 comments Dymocks (it's Australian) and sometimes the iBookstore if I'm feeling desperate...

message 43: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea Morrison (chelsealouise07) I used to get my books from Borders, but since that closed, I usually get them from Books A Million. We don't have a B&N nearby, but sometimes I'll order from them and have it mailed.
