Will do James Thompson in April, that way you'll have time to get his book out on March 21.

1. The Dark Angel by Mari Jungstedt
2. Silenced by Kristina Ohlsson
3. Room No. 10 by Åke Edwardson
4. The Andalucian Friend by Alexander Söderberg
Know that any book by these authors can be utilized.

My review of Room No. 10 will appear in New York Journal of Books on the day of release and the day discussion begins. March 5.

Anna (aetm) | 228 comments Wait, Inspector Winter series is that far behind in English?

message 11: by James (new)

James Thompson (jamesthompson) | 310 comments Yes, Room No. 10 came out in 2005, and I made a sort of a mistake, which Åke Edwardson pointed out to me. Room No. 10 was published before Larsson's first book, and Larsson refed Edwardson in it. So I was correct in saying that Edwardson might not have even read Larsson, and he hasn't to this day. The two scenes I mentioned do seem similar, but if anyone influenced anyone, Edwardson influenced Larsson, not the other way around. I thought it important to make that clear, and have amended the review as well.

I finally got The Andalucian Friend by Alexander Söderberg from the library. Will start it when I finish A Murderous Procession by Ariana Franklin. Also just got Room No. 10 by Åke Edwardson and Silenced by Kristina Ohlsson only one week to read all three books.

Tamberlane | 3 comments Kenneth, I'll be interested to hear what you think of The Andalucian Friend. The synopsis sounded appealing to me, but I've still been occupied with Nesbo!

An interesting ending to The Andalucian Friend, all can say is that he ends up as a friend. Silenced seemed like it was all about a pregnant female detective and her immediate group I could have like a different outcome because all we new was she had the baby. Room No. 10 will be next.

Sue | 81 comments I have just finished Unseenby Mari Jungstedt. She was new to me and I wanted to start the series at the beginning. Really enjoyed it. I thought I had it figured but hadn't. Liked the non-angst ridden (yet?) inspector and it was quite fast paced. Looking forward to reading more. Quite a lot of information about different parts of Sweden too.

I finished Room No. 10 by Åke Edwardson. It was a long drawn out mystery where you find out in the last 3 chapters what's gone on. The whole rest of the book pieced some of it together. Not my kind of book.
