So far things haven't calmed down much for me. I was off work today but I ran from the time I woke up until I got home an hour or so ago. I think things should start calming down soon though.
How is everyone else doing? I feel like I've totally neglected the group the last few months. I hope to start being able to be more active if things start calming down a bit. Thank you Jennifer for keeping up with the group. What would we do without you!

Quick update on me - I had a first date with a new guy last week but haven't heard much from him since our date. We think its because he is a body builder and going into competition on Saturady so is focosed on that right now.
Its funny, until I started to see this guy, I didn't realize how many people around me know a body builder. Its really fun how its brought me closer to people and exposed a piece of their lives that I would never have otherwise known about.

I do have a first date tonight with a gentleman who lives near my parents house (where I grew up) so we will see how that goes. This one has lots of promise. lol, although I have said that before.
BUT, just to leave you with a laugh, at the time that hte body builder was saying good bye to me, a new guy was saying hello. All was well until he told me he believed in Aliens - and not just that there is life on other planets. He believes that aliens built the pryamids and that they live here on Earth with us. I kid you not. Suffice it to say, we are no longer pursuing anything.

Oh my! Well, I'm old and retired . . . and I don't do warpaint anymore . . and I prefer my own company . . . so thank goodness the dating mode is something I don't have to think about. Hope you find someone interesting in your pursuit . . . ;-)

Last night's date got moved to today so I am still waiting to see what kind of chemistry I have with Josh.

The date with josh was great. We went out Friday and Saturday night and have chatted and/or texted everyday. He has great potential. :) Fingers crossed.

I just got home from taking my Mom for a check-up at the transplant center. She is doing Awesome! Her liver function is outstanding & she has no problems with the liver at all. She is now no longer needing oxygen except when really exerting herself. She is doing so well that they said she can wait a month to come back instead of 2 weeks! Yippee!
Oh, that's wonderful, Nikki!!!

Great news, Nikki!!

(and please do check out my list!)

Summer is here, finally - I'm about to take a break from GR and take a book outside. Not an audio, though, cuz I like the bird song.

Update on Josh - I thought things were starting to go downhill and then yesterday he texted me and said it looks like you aren't interested so good luck in your search. I replied back that I thought he wasn't interested. Since then things have been picking back up.
Its been slow going and I don't think he is Mr. Right but he might be ok for Mr. Right Now.

You can never have too many friends . . .
I hesitate to say this, but if he can't communicate now, he's unlikely to be able to do so later.

And I agree with Jennifer, if communication is his weakness, then it won't get better. But it sounds like you are okay with him being Mr Right Now - true???

I did start talking to another gentleman last night. His name is Mark. We will see if he has potential. He might... lol dating stinks!!!! :)
You sound gorgeous, smart and funny. What more could he want?
:P
:P

Thanks guys. I need to hear this. I see so much goodness in the people around me, I forget to see it in myself too.
Delighted that I could help :-)

Seriously gals, though, my old eyes are having trouble seeing the different avatar pictures you have, and neither of you has a title or other distinguisher in your names - maybe, as a special favor, you could indulge me and do something to help me keep track of which is which?
It worked :-)
I noticed that Project Gutenburg has added support for audiobooks to its iOS app! That can only mean good things to come :)

You are so right Linda. I have started talking to another guy as well. His name is Mark. We will see what happens. :)

Sounds good Jennifer, just have fun, that is the name of the game!!!
And thank YOU for asking. I had meant to do something about that, but was too lazy until you prompted me :)

I hope everyone is doing well. Jennifer, I haven't seen you in a little while. Hope you are doing okay. Any good news on the dating front??
How is everyone else doing?
All is slightly quiet in my neck of the woods. This week will be a little busy for me. I am working this weekend plus Labor Day (don't get off for holidays at a hospital), and I work all this coming week. Our church Youth Group starts back up this Thursday evening (in which I teach a class) & then I have an Origami Owl Jewelry Party on Friday evening. I have to get up & leave for Louisville, KY around 4am on Saturday to go for an Origami Owl training event, then if not too tired will be driving back that evening (it's about a 5 hour drive so I'll have to see how I feel).
Anybody else having a crazy week or are you just enjoying the 3 day holiday weekend?

Who knew Origami would be connected with excitement?!

The winner is: A Week in Winter by Maeve Binchy
My pleasure, everyone!
And, though this is not about audiobooks, I'll be on television tonight - sometime between 10 and 11pm Eastern, on National Geographic Channel's How to Survive the End of the World - if you'd like to wave hello! (I'll try to respond to every wave with a subtle nod.)
