Rebecca I was just wondering if anyone has bought a copy of this for their Kindle or e-reader? I started it a month ago and had to return it because there were so many mistakes with content. The end of one page didn't match up with the start of the next page. It was very frustrating and more work than I am willing or should have to put into reading. I am wondering if all e-book versions of this will be the same?

Emmy Kuipers Bought it in Apple's iBook store. No problems with that copy.

Looking forward to it, I think it will be a much quicker read than The Black Company trilogy.

did you try changing the font size when the pages didnt match up? this has happened to me on other books and the missing text appeared. very annoying though

I didn't try changing the font size. Now, I am reading at least 4 other books so it will have to wait. Thanks for the info though and I will make sure I try it the next time it happens.

Christina (cmxtina) Definitely in. I've been wanting to read this book for a while now. I'm about 50 pages in already. So far, I'm enjoying it. I find Harry pretty entertaining.

A.J. Lauer (ajlauer) Boy that book went fast! I started on the 1st and am already done. It was a fast read, but not overly engaging (I never got to the 'just let me finish my chapter before doing xyz!' point). However I'll probably head into the rest of the series as folks say it gets better..

ETA: (hopefully that still counts as 'first impression' enough - don't want to break any rules!)

Samantha I am planning on reading the book, was a fan of the show.. and I know that books are almost always better than books so I am looking forward to this.

The series does get much better. Storm Front was Jim Butcher's first book and it shows. I've read every Dresden Files book and it's one of my favorite series.

Sandra (sleo) | 1913 comments I'm reading #4 right now. They do improve.

Bryek Aye they all get a lot better. Only exception is book eight or which ever is Dead Beat. Didnt like that one much

A.J. Lauer (ajlauer) Good to hear they really do get better. I will add the rest to my hold list at the library :)

I've been reading this book. It's great so far. First time I have read a book like this.

Elena (alostgeek) I'm a fan of the show too and this series of books has been on my to-read-list for some time now. I've read the first 50 pages and I like it so far.

I see that the show is available for me on Netflix instant. Does that show use any of the books in any of the episodes? If it does, then I would just read the books. Just wanted to know.

Eddie Graves (mentallydelicious) I unfortunately can't give my first impressions because I've already read this book multiple times. Hell I've already read every one of these books and let me just say that I envy you being able to experience this world for the first time. I'll admit that the first 2 books are not the best, even Butcher says that he was still Learning how to write, but the 3rd one is where the story really picks up. Think of the first 2 books as an introduction to the characters and setting.

My favorite books would have to be Summer Knight, Dead Beat, Changes, and Cold Days. The rest aren't bad at all but those books really packed a punch. Enjoy

Eddie Graves (mentallydelicious) Oh! Any of you who are reading it and are really enjoying it and what to talk to someone about the Dresdenverse awesomeness feel free to friend me!

Jute I have two complaints about the ebook versions of these, specifically the Kindle. First is the cost, the price is ridiculously higher than most ebooks. This irritates me a lot.

The second is how horrible the editing is on this. Misspellings abound and the way the text breaks is very strange.

I wish I knew where to complain about these things in a way that actually makes some impact.

You can post a review at Amazon or send them a complaint. I have #4, Summer Knight on my Nook and so far there are no typos. And I believe I paid 7.99 for it, which is about average.

The ones I bought were all 9.99 and they are still listed that way on Amazon.

Oh yeah, I checked my receipts and it was 9.99. But the editing is fine.

That's good to know, so I will consider buying more of them.

Enjoying it moderately so far, it's reminding me a bit of Rivers of London.

Bev (greenginger) | 744 comments Considering reading this if I can get a cheap copy.

Harry's I'm so chivalrous attitude is starting to grate on me a bit.

message 27: by Lisa (new) - rated it 2 stars

Lisa If you are an ebook buyer kobo and iBooks have it for $4.99. It's been on my wish list for a while, so I got it today. Hoping its ok, I do like a series more than stand alone books.

message 28: by Todd (new) - rated it 3 stars

Todd | 21 comments Just started reading it (19% done after first sitting), so far really enjoying the character and the book. Some cliches, but not annoying at all actually, they are really quite charming. Can't wait to get more into this world and discover the fun, more fantasy-oriented elements of this world.

laurenpie My Kindle version was good, didn't have the misspellings and odd page breaks.
