Lately, it's common, especially in urban fantasies, that books focus on a woman with special powers who has to do something special and who finds a special man along the way who supports her. Many of these books are excellent but... I would like to read it the other way.

I would like to read a fantasy/sci-fi/urban fantasy book about a teenager (not a child!) or a man with special powers and a destiny who shares a special bond with a woman.

But I don't mean just any book with a male protagonist, like John Taylor, Edwin Drood or Harry Dresden. Think... think Leto and Ghanima from the Children of Dune mini-series or Neo and Trinity from Matrix. Stories where the bond between the guy and the gal is just as important as the goal.

Try reading Bobby Pendragon series, total of 10 books. I managed to find 7 of them only.

A group of travelers that jump across space and times to save the planet from evil Saint Dane.

The main character is, the boy; Bobby Pendragon.

But as far as I read though, nothing really is nearing with sharing special bond with a woman.

However, it is still; a nice series .

Anna Dressed in Blood might fit.

Hold Me Closer, Necromancer

I think this might fit your inquiry. Urban fantasy; young man with special powers finds a girl along the way. They bond, and work together to take down evil.

The Knife of Never Letting Go but I'm not sure if this really fits. Great series though.
