Elizabeth Newton (elizabethnewton) | 59 comments There is a man, who owns a train. And there are few on this precious sphere called Earth who know what this train really is. You are about to become one of those few, for I am going to let you in on a secret... It travels in time and space. But this is far from the most exciting part. There’s another man. A man not of this world. The Son of the Beginning and the End, the Comforter and Commander, Creator of all things. The One who imagined the suns and planets of the universe and breathed them into being. The One who sends mighty waves crashing and fearsome thunder roaring. The One who comforts the broken-hearted. In all the Train's adventures to faraway worlds and to distant times across the ages, it and its Captain have just one purpose... To seek this Wonder of wonders. To SEEK HIM!

“This time-traveling, science fiction adventure for young teens has Christian themes reminiscent of The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. It has monsters, chase scenes, and splitsecond escapes.” - US Review of Books.

Melissa Without giving to much away can you tell me what types of real life problems and situations are faced in this book? It sounds like a book that my daughter would really enjoy. She is 10 but she is a very advanced reader but not all books at her reading level are appropriate for her age group.

Are there a wide type of real life problems or do they center on boy/girl- dating/sex issues like a lot of teen and YA books do?

Elizabeth Newton (elizabethnewton) | 59 comments I haven't begun to tackle boy/girl dating/sex issues. Some examples of the issues include facing your problems rather than running away from them. The main character Evie who is fourteen is feeling guilty about something she did at school and one of her 'friends' is using that to manipulate her. By the end of the adventure, Evie feels differently about the whole thing and decides to do something brave about it. Also, learning to stand up for what you believe in comes through gently quite a lot. Putting things in perspective, valuing the right things and dealing with bullies.
All these are across multiple books, they arent all dealt with in the one of course.
I've tried to put them in subtly most of the time so I can't be accused of having the corny line along the lines of, "Now what have we learnt today children?"
I hope I've achieved a good balance.
Being a school teacher, I see a lot of the 'small' problems that go on in kids' everyday lives, not just the big obvious ones of puberty and dating and maybe loss of loved ones etc. I would like to include these too one day, but I haven't got there yet.

I should note here for you that my books do have content in them that refers to the Christian faith. To the point where there are some Christian characters in the stories who see things from Christian perspectives, but I wouldn't say there's any 'preaching' going on.

Hope this helps and I hope you and your daughter venture to read them. :D
