Could there be a change to the system whereby books written by soemone with the same name as a Goodreads Author are automatically added to a profile. There are a lot of people out there with the same name as me.
For now, could soemone please remove the multiple copies of "Chaos and Intoxication" that have been added to my profile?

Not much of a problem for my name but yes, an excellent suggestion.

I don't think a change would work unless members were prohibited from manually adding books; manually added books go on author profile however name was typed.

I do wish the "similar names" option that librarians can see on non-goodreads author was publicly viewable by all. (And not so hard for librarians to maneuver around to get to once "buried" behind goodreads author profile).

The similar names as just a viewable list; not something anyone can edit or mess up in any way.

An example screenshot using OP "Alan Dean" author name is at http://d.gr-assets.com/photos/1362685... (where it says "disambiguate" that's a librarian edit to distinguish between two authors and batch edit correct books over to new author profile). Just the list being viewable could be helpful to authors, librarians, and even members who either just enjoy seeing the nuts and bolts or who do have bookshelves, closets and tubs full of books they want to add.
