The movie is hitting the theaters on March 29th. Is anyone planning on seeing this? I'd like to, but I haven't read the book yet. Whenever there's a book, I always have to read the book first, even if takes me years to get around to it.

I definitely wanted to read the book first, but I ran out of time. Usually happens that way. I am just glad I did read The Hobbit before I saw the movie.

I've been trying to avoid all previews etc. I want to picture the characters in my head, and then see who was cast as the main characters when the book hits the theaters.

I was one of the people that really enjoyed the Twilight series, so I have to give this one a try too.

I loved the Twilight books too. I'm curious to see how Meyer writes science fiction. I'll probably end up watching the movie first.

Kacie | 22 comments The Host was so much better than The Twilight series (although I loved Twilight also). There is just something different about The Host that makes it so much better. Maybe it is about the fact that the characters are adult and seem more relatable. As far as the movie, I am so disappointed. Poor editing and poor casting are culprits. It almost seemed as though the folks charged with the production of this didn't take away some of the important parts most readers did. As a result, a lot of small but critical points were forgotten and as far as I am concerned the lead was cast all wrong =(
*Can you tell I am still simmering with disappointment?*

That's good to know Kacie. I'm still holding off on seeing the movie until I can read the book.

Shiree McCarver | 305 comments I enjoyed the movie because it wasn't what I expected. It was in a way a modern Romantic ET story in the end.

Liked it way better than the Twilight series. Tthe Twilight series I found boring considering the topic. I was only able to read the first book and I didn't care what happen to read the rest.

However The Host film I thought was done well. If you don't expect much when you're watching it then by the end you will be even more pleased you gave it a shot.
