Joanie | 197 comments I was so excited that this book won-I've had it unfinished for 3 years but then I remembered something....I started reading this one when I was pregnant with my son and I stopped reading it because was all emotional and crying while reading it in the doctor's office and I never picked it up again. I'm pregnant again now! Hopefully I'll have better luck this time!

So, er... what's this book actually about, in a nutshell? I skimmed through the book description but it wasn't very clear to me.

Joanie: Good luck with the pregnancy!

Joanie | 197 comments Thanks!

I really liked what I read-it's about two cousins living in New York in the 40s during WWII. One cousin has just escpaed Nazi occupied Prague and has left his family behind. Comic books are huge at this time and the cousins wind up creating a comic book character called the Escapist who can get out of anything and they have him take on Hitler in their books. There's a lot more to the story than I can do justice-hopefully people enjoy it.
