Pamela (waterspout) | 370 comments Haven't read any book that has a character with autism (I think) but I've met a real, live one and it was pretty cool because he wouldn't stop talking even though I was no longer answering, making no room for awkwardness.

Cami S. I think it adds something to the character that really makes you feel for them and adds feelings and sentiment that makes you fall in love with the character so that when you put down the book, you made a new best friend who needs your help.

I'm curious because I'm not aware of many books with autistic characters at all, but I've been pretty dissatisfied with the way they're portrayed and lack of acknowledgement of how different they are, just like everybody is.

I don't normally do this, but I'd like to recommend my novel, Bronze, to anyone who's interested. It's not stated or obvious in the book, but the main character has a mild form of Autism Spectrum Disorder. I'd love to know what anyone thinks. :)
