I took exactly the same approach - start with the big countries! I found homing in on a continent was a good technique too ;)

Exactly! It helps you feel as if you're making progress :)

Tania | 982 comments I started the same way went big and then it dawned on me the small countries seem harder to find books and they don't show on the map either but they still have to be done if your going the full 240. So am now working on the small countries with the odd large one so at least the map changes colour now and then - well until it dumped me last time I went to change it and now have to start again lol. Have a list of all the counties with the smallest 50 countries in blue and can delete them as I do them. Saving China for when I did a big boost.

Emily | 36 comments Great idea Tania. South America is looking a bit bare so may fill it with some of the smaller ones. Are you going for the 240? I’m going to struggle for the 80 I think.

Tania | 982 comments Going 240,figure it will take about 9 years to do. Running in line with it 80 books but want the author from the country as well.

Tania, you are playing hardcore ;) I went for the 80 and now aim for 100 - although I'm not on any hurry...

Tania | 982 comments Had a look at the 240 author and country but it is impossible to do. One there are not authors for all the countries and two they need to be in English so 80 it is.

Emily | 36 comments I started the challenge 7 years ago and I’m only on something like 16. There’s always so many other books I want to read so I’d say every 3rd or 4th book I try to read one for the challenge that isn’t an author or genre I normally read. My bookcase is full of UK and American authors. If I ever complete the 80 I might just keep going like you, Liz. Great travels to you both!

Emily | 36 comments Would you believe I’ve got some books to add!?!?

17. ISRAEL - The good man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ by Philip Pullman
18. ITALY - Fair Rosalind by Natasha Solomons

It’s only been 4 years 😂

Tania | 982 comments Well I was optimistic about the length of time, been doing this since Dec 2014 and still have 85 books to go . I would like to get the next 5 in before the end of the year.
