Welcome Abbie! Glad to have you! You don't need to limit yourself to future discussions, we never close our old threads so feel free to poke around the archives and chime in on anything that strikes your fancy!

Banshee (bansheethecat) | 5 comments Hello! I'm originally from Poland, but now living permanently in Denmark. It probably won't be very surprising when I say that I'm primarily a SFF reader. I'm not new to Goodreads, but I haven't stumbled on to this group until very recently. What compelled me to join was the idea of reading series. I'm awesome at starting series and not that great at finishing them, so I need all the motivation possible to get better at it :)

Welcome, Banshee! We're just starting the Poppy War series, so that might be a good series to start. But all previous discussions, including our previous series reads, are archived in the Discussion area. Feel free to jump in anywhere.

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 41 comments Hi everyone!

My name is Alessandro (my current username can be confusing) and I'm from Italy. I just joined the group and I'm eager to explore! A couple of my contacts are already members.

Genre and speculative fiction are among my interests; the curious might explore my shelf by using several tags that fall within the scope of this group, such as speculative fiction, fantasy, science fiction, afrofuturism, cyberpunk, space opera, dystopia, post-apocalypse...

Hi Alessandro, welcome! We never close old discussions, so feel free to poke around the archives and share your thoughts about anything we've read in the past. Glad to have you! Where in Italy do you live? I've been twice and fell in love with the country, though I haven't seen all of it (yet).

a.g.e. montagner (agem) | 41 comments Hi Shel and thanks.

I live half an hour north of Venice, which, beside hosting my alma mater, is a city I try to visit as often as possible.

I see you've already gone through many novels I wish to read, including various series; I'll look for the old topics. On the other hand, it will be challenging to find something you haven't read in nearly 20 years of group activity!

I see you vote for future books of the months much in advance. This is just as well, since my current reading schedule is basically full until probably sometime in May.

The good news is, they keep publishing new ones ;)

Welcome! I recently returned from Italy and loved our time in Venice, as well as many other cities in your country. I was happy to be there at this time of year, before it is toohot and crowded with even more tourists like me!

Glad to have you in our group!

Welcome to the group.

Venice is a beautiful city, and there is such good food in Italy! :)

Alex Bookfy (bookfy) | 1 comments Hi everyone — Greetings from Bookfy! 📚

I’m Alex Asr, the creator of Bookfy.org, a blog where I share book reviews, recommendations, and curated book lists for readers around the world. But I’m here on Goodreads simply as a fellow reader — excited to join the community, exchange thoughts, and discover new books!

A little bit about me:

I love reading across genres — from literary fiction to personal growth and business books.

Lately, I’ve been diving into both English and Indonesian titles, so I’m always open to great recommendations!

When I’m not reading, I enjoy creating book-inspired visuals and quotes for fellow book lovers.

Why I joined this community:

To actively participate — not just lurk, but engage in discussions, write reviews, and learn from fellow members.

To share reading insights — about books and themes that inspire me or spark great conversations.

To connect with other readers — swap recommendations and simply enjoy the joy of reading together.

Thanks for welcoming me to the group — I look forward to meeting you all and joining some great bookish conversations here! 😊
