Have any of your favorite TV shows been preempted by the March Madness madness?

Garth (garthm34) | 18 comments No but I do have a soft spot for MM. :)

As far as TV, I have recently been catching up with a couple of SF series. Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles (2nd Season) and Heroes (3rd Season).

I'm enjoying the March Madness--it's the one time all year that I watch college basketball.

Ah, sorry! March Madness is (as far as I know) a uniquely American sporting event. We basically have professional and college-level sports. In basketball, the pro level is called the NBA, and the college level the NCAA. Every year, the top NCAA teams play in a big final tournament that starts out with 64 teams, then 32, then 16... down to the Final Four and the eventual champion. People who usually have no interest in college basketball suddenly get interested, people fill out their brackets and offices set up betting pools. And it's called "March Madness" because all of this happens in just a few weeks in late March/early April.

I'm American and I didn't have a clue. Thanks for your explanation, Stefan. :)

Carolyn (seeford) My alma mater is in, so we're watching those games! Both men's and women's teams. Pretty much the only sports we watch all year, except for USC football (DH's alma mater), but since they are a west coast team, and we're on the east coast they are almost never on TV here.

Go green! (Michigan State)
