Because everyone needs a bit of magic in their lives.

Martha Gilstrap | 5 comments I'm currently reading Sherwood Smith's BLOOD SPIRITS, second of her Coronets and Steel trilogy. It's good, but I prefered INDA and its sequels, probably because the setting is more ancient, less modern.

And before that I read Robin Hobb's CITY OF DRAGONS. She's one of my very favorite authors, and if I modeled myself after anyone, she would be the one.

I fancy reading an epic fantasy right now. (I'm a fast reader and devour a book a day).
Something along in the style of Dave Duncan's Seventh Sword series would be great. Any recommendations?

Do any members write short fantasy stories?

I'm afraid I'm no help, because the only Dave Duncan I've read is Lord of the Fire Lands--and that at least 10 years ago. Sorry I'm not much help.

Some, but not much published. A couple of flash fiction-length stories 15-20 years ago and that's it. I'm currently working on a story of 2500 words or thereabouts for a contest, but writing long seems to fit me better.
