Frank Hofer When a giant steps on someone, there's going to be a mess - that's a given. But our giants are unique. Our giants are not mindless, lumbering behemoths smashing everything in their path.

Vampires are popular, but our blood suckers are definitely NOT vampires. No glittering pretty boys or serial killers sleeping in coffins here. Our blood suckers have ethics that would be a credit to any decent human being. To me, they are the most interesting characters in the book.

There is no ancient evil waiting to unleash itself on the world, no quest for some ancient treasure, no sword duels. There is speculation on what a world at the beginning of an industrial revolution would look like if you could meld magic with science and engineering.

The book has politics, racism, wizards, and people trying to change their world.

We wanted to write something that was unique. Let us know if we did.

Don't call them vampires. =D Call them Non-Vampires - or antivamps . . . yes that one. I like that one! ;)

Frank Hofer I said they're not vampires :)

And I know parents aren't supposed to have favorites, but for me Sangres just edge out our Giants. And I like our Giants a lot.

I haven't gotten to know them well enough. ;)

Snarktastic Sonja (snownsew) | 258 comments Oh, and, I did really like Euderma. She seems like one determined gal. The entire race is really fascinating, but I have a very soft spot for her.
