Ikonopeiston (Ikon) | 385 comments I have a new book on its way - shipped yesterday. It is a bit of a pig in a poke (I seem to be fixated on swine lately). The title is Richard III the Last Plantagenet by Michael Sydney Tyler-Whittle. I haven't a ghost of a notion about its bias and worth; I bought it on impulse. This buying from the vendors is becoming an addiction. Ah well, I am otherwise frugal.

Susan (boswellbaxter) | 418 comments Roxane Murph in her bibliography of Wars of the Roses fiction (a handy book to have, by the way, for novels published before 1995) describes it as a sympathetic novel about Richard III in which he is portrayed as "a man of honor and courage, dong his duty as best he can."

Ikonopeiston (Ikon) | 385 comments Well, that's a relief. I had dreams about stepping into the morass of Tudor propaganda in modern dress. Thank you, Susan; we can always count on you.

Patricia Lane | 17 comments I looked up the Murph book online because it sounds wonderful but find I have to add it to my wish list. It appears to be OP and the copy that came up as used was priced at $122..... I wonder if any local library has it....

Susan (boswellbaxter) | 418 comments It's not cheap, that's for sure. You can probably get one through interlibrary loan--I know the university library near me has a copy.

Here's something from a talk Murph did about historical fiction dealing with Richard III:
