Can't spoil it, but lots happens! I'm slowly getting through Pretties, as it's not as good as Uglies... so I'm not sure if I'll read the next one... I have Extras (#4), started reading the first few chapters for kicks, seemed pretty good. Maybe I'll just skip Specials then? Has anyone read Specials??

Jasmine | 15 comments Az wrote: "Are you looking for dystopian stories? Or as long as it's good your in??"

sorry it's sooo late, but dystopian is definitely the one to go for. but if you have other recommendations, like thriller or mystery, i'm down to read those too :)

Benjamin | 26 comments Riya wrote: "Nice books! Death Cure is fantastic (have you read the Kill Order yet- cause I recently finished and it was amazing). And of course Prodigy is one of my all time favorites!!!"

Hey, how is The Kill Order in comparison to the Maze Runner trilogy? I loved the Maze Runner, and then I fund I enjoyed each following book less and less. I was just ready to be done with it. (But this is because I am not a huge zombie-type fan, and I never expected the Maze runner to head in that direction.) I am hesitant to spend time on The Kill Order unless I can expect more.

The Kill Order is even better- trust me. Like the Maze Runner is fantastic, but the Kill Order had different characters and whatnot and it totally worked! You should definitely read it.

message 280: by Lovisa (new)

Lovisa Stjernlöf | 5 comments Hi guys! Foyund this Project on Kickstarter yesterday http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/s... . It's a dystopian author who whants to make someting more out of his novell, a more interactive experience. Sounds kind of cool, I thought. Check it out and back it if you Think it sounds interesting. He do need some more support if this thing is going to happen.

message 281: by Casey (new)

Casey Bond (goodreadscomcaseylbond) | 3 comments WINTER SHADOWS, YA Dystopian now available worldwide!

"Overall, if you enjoy dystopians, mystery and sweet guys then you need this book! It was rough, heartbreaking and beautiful." --Reviewer Janna Horlick

Add Winter Shadows to your TBR list today!

"I could not stop reading. There were moments that made me smile and moments that gave me chills (in a good way!)--Reviewer Caitlyn

"I really enjoyed this book even more so than I did The Hunger Games. Where The Hunger Games seemed overly sensationalistic to me, Winter Shadows feels more down-to-earth. The characters and scenarios that play out felt more relatable and meaningful." --Reviewer, Paul Yoder

message 282: by Scott (new)

Scott I recommend "The Age of Miracles." The Age of Miracles I believe someone else recommended it in this group - it was a winner! Nicely paced. Not heavy on the science mumbo-jumbo or romance. Balanced.

message 283: by Kayla (new)

Kayla Hill (khill3) | 6 comments Hi! I just finished reading the Darkness Rising Series and am trying to decide what to read next! I am trying to decide between these 3:
Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu
The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken
Fragments (Partials, #2) by Dan Wells

any suggestions?

message 284: by Riya (new)

Riya I haven't read Fragments, but I would definitely say Legend and then Darkest Minds!! Both of those are really good- so you should definitely read them next :)

Ooh, Legend! It's my favorite dystopian series! I'd recommend that you buy the boxed set of the trilogy as it includes the print version of the novella, which costs around $3 in a digital copy on Amazon. :)
And also...the boxed set is gorgeous!

message 289: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 203 comments Hi again. New to the group, I'm just going to throw out a bunch of recommendations.

The Hunger Games- no need to explain.

The Maze Runner- this is a love it or hate it book. Fortunately for me it was love it. The premise was intriguing, the plot well thought out, and the characters likable (though Thomas was a touch bland).

Gone- Another love it or hate it book. A huge cast, but I loved every one of them. Fantastic plotting, fast paced, great world building, this is probably the best one I've read. The whole series is fantastic.

The Darkest Minds- Great characters. Really great characters. Ruby and Liam are amazing together. The writing is perfect too. There are many memorable quotes from the series.

Chaos Walking- It doesn't actually get really good until the second book. The plot twists and bends every page, and the relationship between Todd and Viola gets really fascinating as the series progresses.

Hope you enjoy.

message 290: by Riya (new)

Riya Haha I second the recommendations on ALL the series Daniel just mentioned!!!

message 291: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jessilovesbooks) | 364 comments Why did I click on this discussion?!? Like I don't already have too many books on my to-read list!! lol

My recommendation for everyone would be the Arcana Chronicles by Kresley Cole. Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) by Kresley Cole Apocalypse. Paranormal powers. It's awesome. :)

message 292: by Tracy (new)

Tracy | 97 comments Poison Princess is really good! And if you haven't read The Hunt series by Andrew Fukuda, it's awesome too!! I just finished the last book, The Trap last week and I'm still gushing about it (Maybe "gushing" isn't the right word, lol) but it was amazing!

The Hunt (The Hunt, #1) by Andrew Fukuda The Prey (The Hunt, #2) by Andrew Fukuda The Trap (The Hunt, #3) by Andrew Fukuda

message 293: by Alison (new)

Alison Morquecho (thebookishcamper) | 525 comments so I'm about to reread the madman's daughter and then her dark curiosity and then panic. so after that I'm trying to figure out what to read. its either between the darkest minds, chaos walking or the gracling series, what do y'all think?

message 294: by Daniel (new)

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 203 comments I've read the Darkest Minds and Chaos Walking. I've heard great things about the Graceling series as well. I suppose you can't go wrong whichever way. I suggest you read Chaos Walking, not because it's better than the Darkest Minds. (Personally, I give TDM the slightest edge). Rather, read Chaos Walking because the series is all out. If you read the Darkest Minds and Never Fade (number 2) right now, you will be waiting in agony (like me) for the third book, scheduled to come out in December. Save yourself from that mental trauma.

Hope you enjoy!

message 295: by Kaeri (new)

Kaeri Partials (Partials, #1) by Dan Wells Fragments (Partials, #2) by Dan Wells Isolation (Partials Sequence #0.5) by Dan Wells
Ruins (Partials Sequence, #3) by Dan Wells

Just finished Ruins this weekend and this is definitely one of the better YA dystopian series. Must MUST read!

message 296: by Jessica (new)

Jessica O'Gorek (geminirising1) | 2 comments I love this YA paranormal series because it's so very different. Ethereal Fury (Gemini Rising, #1) by Jessica O'Gorek

message 297: by Septemberfall (new)

Septemberfall I love marathoning book series. Do you have any recommendations for me? Are there YA dystopian books that are finished or will be finished this year?
I read (among others): Hunger Games, Divergent, Angelfall (couldn't wait to read it...), Delirium Series, Maze Runner, Matched, Uglies
I already own and will read soon: Legend, Under the Never Sky, Chaos Walking, The Darkest Minds, Shatter Me

Which completed series am I missing?

message 298: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 78 comments Is there any recommended dystopian fantasy that more of the heroic fantasy and less of the epic fantasy? More like Conan and not Game Of Thrones.

Ideally YA or NA.

message 299: by Ralph (new)

Ralph Emerson | 8 comments I am not sure if this is up your alley, but I read Blood Runners: Absolution by Mahaffey. Set in post-apocalyptic Middle America under a new system of justice where young people are forced to pay for other people's crimes and have to fight for their lives against trained assassins. Pretty gritty, fast paced and kind of cool, dark world. I really enjoyed it.

message 300: by Moriah (new)

Moriah | 17 comments I would suggest I am Number Four. It is an amazing series and definitely keeps you reading ALL THROUGH THE SERIES. I read the first four books in 2 weeks! So amazing!
