Social Networking Independent Group Study discussion

How's everybody's book going? Mine continues to be pretty interesting and about social networks - although it hasn't gotten yet to how those networks are influenced by the internet. One thing I'm taking away from my book is that it matters not just who's in our students' networks but who is in those contacts' networks as well, as we are influenced by those up to 3 degrees away from us. One thing I'm trying soon is to introduce one of my students to a new network of people who are interested in the same things as her through taking her to a conference at a local college. This will give her a whole new network to be connected to.
