Vera M. I'm Vera. Sometimes I like a cozy mystery for a lighter read, but the thrillers and suspense mysteries chill me and I love it! My husband does not since sometimes I will lock every lock on the windows and doors when he is not home yet, but that's what keys are for right? ;)

Jan C (woeisme) | 39173 comments Welcome Vera. I read one book where I could only read it on public transportation. I refused to read it at home. It was too much of a thriller for me, although it wasn't really much of a thriller.

Vera M. I know what you mean Jan, there's some books that other people may not look at the same way. There may be an element in it that just creeps you out so bad while other people are okay reading it. Even though I have 2 big dogs there are a few books I've read that I couldn't keep reading unless people were around!

The Uninvited by Dorothy Macardle. I saw the movie based on the book, which they sometimes show on TCM. Here is my review. http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Bill Welcome to the group, Vera. Do you have any favourite authors?

message 11: by Vera (new)

Vera M. Oh that's a toughie. Id probably go with:
Kay Hooper
Lisa Gardner
J.D. Robb
James Patterson

for some of my favorites.

message 12: by Bill (new)

Bill I've enjoyed the James Patterson's I've read. I've read one Lisa Gardner and enjoyed that as well. The others are new to me..

Mona Garg (k1721m) | 70 comments J.D Robb is Nora Roberts. I've been wanting to read her ...In Death series.

I haven't read any of Patterson's suspense/thriller novels but I've read his :Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas

Sam's Letters to Jennifer

Vera M. Kay hooper used to write romance, but she has an FBI profiler series. The unit consists of psychics.
Yes JD Robb is actually Nora Roberts writing a futuristic police/ romance book
Patterson I have so far read a couple of the Alex Cross series

There are so many great authors. I genre hop a bunch, but the mystery, crime, thriller books are the ones that I hate to have to put down once I get started

Mona Garg (k1721m) | 70 comments Gone Girl is a page-turner but I didn't care for the ending.
