Okay, sorry for the mix up.

Skye | 193 comments I forgot who the moderator is from Thailand. Someone on another list is looking for reward-based colleagues in Thailand and I could put the two together. Don't know the location in Thailand yet. Thanks!

Skye | 193 comments Stewart, I am trying to put a dog person in Thailand in touch with you. Can you please email me? Thanks.

Chelley Kitzmiller | 3 comments I'd like to tell you about "Touched By A Furry Angel", an anthology of pet stories, photos and drawings, written by adults and children of Tehachapi, CA. 100% of the proceeds of the book go to Have a Heart Humane Society (Tehachapi) to continue their spay/neuter efforts in a county that is one of the worst in the nation. The book is in ebook at $2.99 and trade paperback at $11.95. It's 250 pages. If you read it, please review it.

Skye | 193 comments Just wanted everyone to know about the Dog Writers' Assn of America. Their website is dwaa.org I am a judge for their annual competition for which there are about 40 categories. It is fun just looking at the titles of the nominees and winners!

message 60: by Hákon (new)

Hákon Gunnarsson | 16 comments It seems to be dogwriters.org now, or that is at least the site name that comes up when I opened dwaa.org. It seems like an really interesting competition.

Skye | 193 comments I've been on GoodReads for over 2 years and often enter the giveaways. I used to get a book a month but haven't, now, for about a year. And just recently, I have noticed that there are hardly any books in the 6 topics Iook under - just one or two, while there used to be pages. Have you all noticed the same? Yet the other two discussions groups on GR that I am on, seem to have a lot of posts still.

Skye, I agree. I used to win a book at least maybe 3 times in a year. But, I also haven't won any in a very long time. I enter, and nothing. I'm wondering if they are random or does someone pick the winners? Do you know?

message 65: by Skye (new)

Skye | 193 comments They are supposed to be random and the author has no say. So I heard from an author. But I have posted a lot of reviews and got more books my first year than my second year. They seem to be on as long (it varies) but the number of books has drastically decreased in my 6-9 categories. Things change. Yahoo groups have been overtaken by FB and FB groups, etc.

Debbie Zapata The dictionary.com Word Of The Day is 'merrythought'. While I waited for the definition to appear I thought 'how appropriate for Christmas Eve'. Then I read that merrythought is a British term for 'the wishbone of a fowl'. Well, I guess it is still appropriate....maybe not for the Christmas Goose, though.

Anyway, Merry Merry, everyone. Thoughts and all! ;-))

Not really for me Melissa. As for the group here, still trying to get conversations going.

In my everyday life a lot going on, hoping it settles down soon.

Kendra Carmichael I realize I've been a lurker on here for a couple of months, mostly because I'm not reading anything right now. (Well, I get samples and stuff off kindle, but I haven't finished anything!)

I am playing the Neko Atsume Kitty Collector game every day though. LOL. It's great fun for cat lovers. Thought this might be a good thread to mention it.

At night before I go to bed, I say to Awesometown, my real cat, "Hold on, I have to feed my virtual cats." She is not amused.

Any other neko atsume addicts out there?

ETA: it's a free game for ipad! Forgot to mention that...
