Chicks On Lit discussion

I thought it might be nice to know who has read one or both of the books and who is currently reading them. It might be fun for those that are reading to have a thread on the book and those who have read to have another thread. It might keep discussions going better and not isolate those that are currently reading and not ready for ending discussions an outlet to discuss..

I have read The Glory Cloak and I currently starting Nefertiti today.

I just picked up Nefertiti yesterday - haven't started it and probably won't have time to get to it until Sunday. I am trying to find a copy of Glory Cloak...

I have finished Nefertiti. Am not reading the Glory Cloak.

I hope to finish my current book today and start Nefertiti tomorrow. The Glory Cloak I may wait to read until later this month.

I tried to read Nefertiti - got all the way to Chapter 11 and just could not go any further. In fact, I mailed it off to another Goodreads member. I felt no love whatsoever for the characters (too whiny!). I expected to learn about ancient Egypt and this beautiful queen instead of two teenagers who whine about everything and misuse the people around them. I won't spoil it for everyone else. I am anxious to see how others enjoy/dislike the book.

I have finished Nefertiti, and just picked up the Glory Cloak today.

I read Nefertiti already, don't know if I am going for Glory Cloak. It doesn't feel like a good fit for me right now.

I started Nefertiti about a week ago and got 20 or pages into it. I'm already hooked, but I have another book I have to finish and return to the library, so queen of the Nile will have to wait. :(

Did you ladies hear that some scientists just did a CT scan of her bust in Egypt and found that the final representation isn't what was originally intended? There's another Nefertiti underneath the one we would recognize and it wasn't just a mold, it was styled differently. I thought it was cool.

I probably won't get to the Glory Cloak, my library doesn't have a copy.

Tera, I think this is a wonderful idea! With everyone reading ahead so much I've felt behind now for a few of the reads because I've been doing the reads the way were were (read the book that month) unless I was leading the discussion, then I read ahead just a bit.

While they're both of my to read list, I just don't think I can do either one this go around.

I am reading Glory Cloak and will probably not read Nefertiti.

I finished the Glory Cloak a few days ago and would like to read Nefertiti but I have to wait to get a copy at the library.
