Aurora In the end of the Mark of Athena, when Percy is holding onto Annabeth right before they fall into Tartarus, he says, "We're staying together. You're not getting away from me. Never again."

Let me point out to you the memory that brings Percy back from the brink of his soul being disintegrated while bathing in the River Styx in the Last Olympian:

"Hold on, Seaweed Brain." It was Annabeth's voice, much clearer now. ",b.You're not getting away from me that easily."

Never really noticed that one, nice find. Percy's promise here can possibly be the oath mentioned in the Prophecy of the Seven.

Here's another callback in the original series.

"I'm not going to let this be easy and boring for you."

-Aphrodite to Percy about his love life, Titan's Curse

"I am never, ever going to make things easy for you, Seaweed Brain. Get used to it."

-Annabeth before kissing Percy, Last Olympian

"An oath to keep wit a final breath". If that is the oath then that means Percy will die keeping that oath. :(

Emma I agree with what Jasmine said. Maybe Percy will save Annabeth with the Doors of Death but shut himself in. Here are my predictions about the rest of the series:
Book 4: We follow the heroes as they try to find each other, and at the end, Percy saves Annabeth by pushing her out and locking himself in the Doors of Death.
Book 5: They rescue Percy and we get a nice long Percabeth epilogue. :)

I really, really, really don't want Percy to die. :(

Lucy Doyle I agree with Brooke and REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that what Emma says is true. I have to say that if any of the seven is going to die, it will probably be Frank. If you think back to The Son of Neptune, you will remember that Frank was told that he will die watching his life line, the piece of firewood, burn. He is the only one that was given a sure prophecy about his death. I know that this does not necessarily mean that he will die in Gaea's war, but his death is more likely than any of the other seven.

Oh my gosssssssssh! I remember that now. They really are the best, cutest, couple I have ever had the pleasure of reading :)

Grace Am I the only one who cried at the end of The Mark of Athena ,because of what happened with Percy and Annabeth?

Mo Wow, good find. This may have to do with the prophecy.

I cried too. Literally. This has been the best book so far out of the Heroes of Olympus and the Percy Jackson series.

But about 30% of the reason why I like it is Percy and Annabeth's realtionship. Rick Riordan makes his characters so believable, and the two's relationship is super cute. It was an (not-so-)average love/hate relationship (it still sort of is). Especially in MoA, it was super sweet. And normally, I do not like any romance of the sort, even in books.

I agree with you, Lucy. As much as I hate jumping to conclusions, Frank is pretty strong, but he is the most vulnerable out of the seven. I hope all of them survive, really.

Percy saving himself for Annabeth? So sweet! *tears*

Darkphoenix NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Percy can't die!!! He and Annabeth need to have a happy ending!!! Another reason i think Frank might die is because of the (kinda) love triangle that's developing between Leo, Hazel and Frank. Besides he does seem like the most vulnerable..
But Mr. Riordan: No messing with Percabeth!

Neal Simmons He probably won't kill off either in Hades. Killing of the "main" characters with one book left would pretty much mean that sales of the last book would be virtually non-existent.

Frank must NOT die!!! He belongs with Hazel!!! BTW I don't think any of the seven will die.It would just ruin the series.

What I repeat to myself when people tell me frank will die: Frank will not die. I love Frank. Frank will not die. I love Frank.Frank will not die. I love Frank. Frank will not die. I love Frank.Frank will not die. I love Frank. Frank will not die. I love Frank.

I LOVE YOU, FRANK!!!!<3

If the oath is that Anabeth is "not getting away from me. Never again." than Percy won't die to protect her, as that will separate them. They would either live together or die together.

Percy can not die! I love Percy. I love how rick made Percy and annabeths relationship so cute. Mr. Riordan there will no messing around with Percy Jackson, you understand?

I think people are forgetting this quote:

"My life literally flashed before my eyes. Suddenly I was twenty. Then I was a middle-aged man. Then I turned old and withered."
- The Last Olympian, Chapter 23

Which means our Perseus is going to survive to be old and withered after all!
