Michelle Kay (dinosaur) | 56 comments I've never kept track of my reading for the year. But this is i've discovered this site. 50 books for the year seems to be a standard goal amongst most. So i want to shoot for that, but hopefully i can do more. But really, this is just an excuse to keep track of the books i've read this year. Which have been...

1. Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk
2. All About Lulu - Jonathan Evison
3. The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button - F. Scott Fitzgerald
4. Dead Until Dark - Charlaine Harris
5. Memoirs Of A Geisha - Arthur Golden
6. Twilight - Stephenie Meyer
7. New Moon - Stephenie Meyer
8. Eclipse - Stephenie Meyer
9. Breaking Dawn - Stephenie Meyer
10. The Giver - Lois Lowry
11. Prep: A Novel - Curtis Sittenfeld
12. Flowers In The Attic - V. C. Andrews
13. Midnight Sun - Stephenie Meyer
14. Life And Love, Such As They Are - Anna Shapiro

And I'm Currently Reading: I Am Legend - Richard Matheson

Lori Walker Maybe we should make a folder that holds our individual reading goals for the year. In our individual thread, we can make a master list of what we want to read and cross off titles or we could just make a running list. Anyone have any thoughts? Do we already have something like this?

message 4: by Michelle Kay (new)

Michelle Kay (dinosaur) | 56 comments that would be nice. an easy tracker for ouselves and other to see our goals. i didnt see anything like that which is why i started this thread.

That sounds like a good idea. Another group I'm involved in has a folder like that. There is also a group specifically for people posting their reading challenges I think. My only reservation is that I don't want to clutter the group too much with folders that people don't really use.

So..how many people like this idea and would utilize this folder for their personal reading challenge if it was created? If we get enough interest than I'll just make one "CHALLENGE" folder for our group school year challenge and personal challenges.

message 6: by Michelle Kay (new)

Michelle Kay (dinosaur) | 56 comments i would be in for that. personal challenge is what motivates people the most. so i think it would bring in more people who are intimidated by the other challenges that have been posted.

message 7: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker I'd be up for that.

message 8: by Lynnie (new)

Lynnie so... like a thread where everyone posts once and edits as they go along, listing the books they've read in 2009? I'd be up for that.

I think, if I understand the idea correctly, it would be a whole other folder and everyone would have their own thread..? That's what I gathered..but I think either would work..just like we are doing for our group challenge

Michelle Kay (dinosaur) | 56 comments mmhmm. lets start it.

Daniel | 14 comments How was I AM LEGEND????

message 12: by Michelle Kay (new)

Michelle Kay (dinosaur) | 56 comments i really liked it. i havent watched the movie but i hear it's very different.

the text jumps around a bit and is a little bit hard to follow sometimes.
but i has one of the best endings i've ever read.
it really makes you feeled wowed when you've finished.

Daniel | 14 comments Yeah, I didn't know it was a book. Saw it a couple weeks ago.....I'll have to check it out. I'd be down for a challenge folder.

message 14: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker I was talking about a new folder. The Next Best Book Club has one, if you want to look at that to get an idea of what I mean.

message 15: by Michelle Kay (new)

Michelle Kay (dinosaur) | 56 comments people post and repost their goals there though. this folder should be a one time post for each person and they can just edit it instead of reposting. that way it doesnt take up too much space, and is easier to see where you are on your goal list.

message 16: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker If we create a new folder, you'll create a thread that's like Michelle's Reading Goals, I'll have Lori's Reading Goals, Jamie will have Jamie's Reading Goals, and so on for however many people want to participate. Each individual can structure their thread however they want. They can do a list and cross them off (like we do with the Challenge) or they can do a new post each time they finish a book. And we can all comment on the threads to give encouragement or whatever.

message 17: by Michelle Kay (new)

Michelle Kay (dinosaur) | 56 comments oohhhh. yes. that sounds very good!

message 18: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (catchtigers) | 6 comments Wow, I've never thought of counting book pages before. That's so creative! I just might have to start doing that. Do you take into consideration if some books have smaller texts, bigger pages, etc. or is that way too much information?

message 19: by Michelle Kay (new)

Michelle Kay (dinosaur) | 56 comments wayyy too much information. i just count the pages according to what this website says the page amount is for the edition of the book i have.
