Indpenedent writers should share their books. Another good book is the "Emotion Thesaurus: A Writer's Guide to Character Expression," by Angela Ackerman and Becca Puglisi. Every author needs this book on their shelf.

There are several books available on body language. You can also 'google' and get info on different body language. However, being a writer, your own observation how people respond to certain situations is helpful.

Paul Vincent (astronomicon) | 113 comments I'd second the importance of observation. Generic body language is useful but individual quirks (the sort you notice real life individuals doing) can be much more interesting.
