Now For Something Completely Different - Food!

I like to collect recipes and try out new ones fairly often and I have a ton of cookbooks lying around that I've inherited from some place or another.
I really want to try a hand at making lembas bread. Yes, it's from LOTR. Yes, I know I'm a complete dork :).
I also LOVE this blog by Anna the Red. In this particular post I've linked to she has replicated several meals from Studio Ghibli films. So adorable!
As far as a favorite food? Idk. Cheese? I put it on everything so it must be true.
@Ashley I feel like the thing with onions - you either like them or hate them. My roommate is very particular about onions unless you change their preparation. I basically chop onions into the tiniest mince for her or caramelize them for her.
I've also seen Anna the Red's posts about the Ghibli food replications she's made! It made me hungry. All I want is delicious things.
@Frank I feel like there's a cooking niche... I'm terrified of baking but I'm not awful at it at all. It's really hit or miss, I think. I also know people who don't cook very well but can bake MAGIC.

Something I don't seem to have a lot of? Cookbooks. I do however keep a book of my own recipes on my shelf of sketchbooks and notebooks, however.
So, my fellow /r/book -ers, the question is... what's your favourite food? Do you have a go-to cookbook? Do you keep your own cookbook of recipes? Is there food in a book you read that you always wanted to try or didn't really exist (...I wanna try butterbeer...)
