Hi Aprile,Nice to meet you, thanks for saying hi :-). I didn't think people read these lists from each other; I thought I was just babbling along to myself! I can't seem to get myself away from books at all lately, I am having a lot of fun. Only problem is I get so obsessive especially if the book is great and I do nothing else when I'm home. The Martin series I was talking about has gotten me holed up in my room reading under the covers much like I was when I got obsessed with Harry Potter!
Hehehe, some people read other people's lists. As for me, I try and read everyone's lists, but I only comment when I want to/have something to say.I know how you feel about getting obsessive over books. Sometimes my husband is like "pay attention to me!!!" and then other times he is happy cause he can steal the computer LOL. Usually I try not to read when he is home, but sometimes, if a book is really good, I don't have a choice!! LOL
haha...my friend's son and I used to have races to see who could read the next Potter book in less time...I won the last one...6 hours! There are times when NOTHING is more important than a good book...including laundry and grocery shopping.

I also feel like I'm talking to myself when I list my books, but every now and then someone will chime in :) And I always read others' lists, but rarely ever have time to except on the weekends; and like Aprile, I only comment when I have something good (and not stupid-sounding :P ) to say.

8.A Clash of Kings finished 04/12/2009Super good and exciting! I feel though that I should just wait and review all the books in the series as one. If you haven't tried this series yet, I highly suggest trying it out!

I suggest you read Billy Budd and The Crying lot of 49. Both under 200 pages, both justly considered classics.

I'm reading the Crow one...isn't it AFTER the sword one? I like them a lot, too.oh yeah! whoopee for your first 10! And they are LONG ones!
hi Mary, yes, FFC is after SoS, I just added them in the wrong order. I had thought when I posed FFC that I had already posted Swords when I finished reading, but apparantly I was so obsessed I had no time to announce i was done and immediately picked up the fourth volume in the series.Thanks for the congratulations, I'm going to try reading another fantasy series, Book 1 of the Dragon Lance chronicles by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. The problem is that Martin is such an amazing writer that even if the story telling is any good, I'm feeling let down when I read less polished styles of writing...I should have read A Song of Ice and Fire last!!!
Tell me when you are done with Crows, I'd like to discuss some things from the story with you. I'm definitely going to reread it again for clues!

The Eye of the WorldI really enjoyed this story, I'm going to definitely keep reading the Wheel of Time series, so I can have a fantasy fix while I wait for George RR Martin's 'Dance of Dragons' the next installment of his Song of Ice and Fire Series (still my fav epic fantasy series of all time)

Cemetery DanceIt was alright, but not as good as some of the other writing I've been keeping up with. However, the story did leave a lump in my throat, only because I have read the whole Agent Pendergast series. Its actually quite entertaining, but I remember liking other books in the series a little more.

The Great Huntit only took about 2 months to read this book! actually, i find myself preparing to go to the bookstore to buy the 3rd installment of the 14 book epic series...
Oddly enough, even though i finished reading the series in april, i find myself fighting an urge to go back and reread George RR Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" again...
I've read it twice. And when the new book comes out, I'll probably have to go back and read them again. I love Martin's style, in that he doesn't hand-hold. Y'know, that "if you don't get the references then pay better attention" type of thing - because it's satisfying when you do get them.But it sure doesn't help when the books are released years apart.

Storm FrontRead this book after having it recommended by another coworker at the bookstore a few months ago. I tossed it into my "to read" pile and just never got around to it. I'm glad I did though! It isn't really marvelously well written, but its quite entertaining and a fast read. Recommend it for someone looking for a fun, fast read on a lazy day off or trip to the beach!

From Dead to Worseslowly getting to the finish line!!! By the way, I LOVE this series...although its easily categorized as "female reading" I think its fun for everyone! I really recommend it, especially if you need a break from heavy literature and need some light reading. I haven't read the short stories yet, but I plan to. I'm only sad I'm almost done with the last book in the series, but I guess I'll reread the DaVinci Code since the new Dan Brown book is coming out next Tuesday...

The Lost SymbolGrade: C. maybe C+ because parts of the book were engaging, i just really found that this book, on the whole was pretty lame and i was disappointed. quite a let down after all that hype. maybe dan brown needs to retire robert langdon and go back to writing books like deception point or digital fortress. its just the same story being recycled over and over....do yourself a favor and wait for the mass market version. or, if you absolutely cannot wait and the library waiting list is several months long, keep the book in mint condition (i always remove the book cover while i'm reading to keep it looking new) and keep your receipt so you can return it within 2 weeks to get your $ back. it sucks. trust me on this one!

Oh my goodness, where did my year go??? How am I going to fit 16 more books in?!?! I think my problem is that all my books are so long...light right now i'm reading the second installment of clan of the cave bear, and that's another 500 page book or so...but i LOVE those books! *sigh*
How's it going? Getting any closer to finish the books??
lol, nope. next year i am going to stop reading all those long epic 500 page books, then maybe i can come closer to finishing :-)

Lots more books to read, but since I just joined the book, wanted to post the books I read so far this year...I also read the 7th Harry Potter book, but I don't count it b/c I started it in dec, so I wanted a fresh start. Unfortunately, at the rate I read, I don't know if I'll manage 4 books a month, especially at the length they've been. Recently I started George RR Martin's fantasy epic, Song of Ice and Fire with Game of Thrones...kept me busy for awhile...
