If anyone enjoys a decent Historical Novel, then you cannot go wrong with C.J. Sansom's series set in Tudor England featuring the very likable lawyer Matthew Shardlake. The series sequence is;
1. Dissolution,

3. Sovereign,

5. Heartstone,

Heartstone (Matthew Shardlake, #5) by C.J. Sansom

I'm just on the third book, but we have big fan in Angela!

I'll second that, this is an excellent series. Shardlake is a great character.
