I did a bit catching up with the posts, I would like to join the August challenge and have already a few questions :)
First I am answering yours though, my fav genre would be UF (no vampires unless they are side characters), I live in Vienna (Austria) and also have been born in the very same location :)
1. do I have to read one book for each category? (which i think i could not because i have no book for cat 5 - the uniforms) or 9 books in total which could count for any of the 9 cats?
2. I checked my august shelf and I am over- confident that I will read 18+ books (I am always over- confident when I put up my challenge at the beginning of the month :)); although i will be on holiday for 2 weeks :) i love that i can take my kindle everywhere :) I might have a delay when posting finished books though etc.
3. I have 4 books with blue covers, can all of them be added to the challenge for August?
4. if one of the other member's fav genre is the same as mine, does it still count if i read one of those?
5. step 7 is covered i will join the dark places bom read
6. step 8 is covered, i think i choose more than 50% of the books i am going to read by its cover :)
8. okay, i should have scrolled down in the august challenge thread in the first place to see that I can post my stuff there for the challenge :)
9. oh, you can use one book for multiple stages?
10. i will post my stuff there and then come back, I believe with more questions :)
11. for step 9, can I choose an author with "C" because my name starts with "C" or has it to be another member's name?
12. do rereads count?

On message #712 posted some links to the threads on our sister group that Baroness Blue has reserved for our challenge.
Yes, you can read 4 blue books.
No, you don't have to participate on every category.
Anytime you post a book on the threads I mentioned, you can add the info where the book can "fit", so when the captain will assembly our challenge results can play "fit best" with all our read books.
Since our challenge was already posted, I'm not sure if we can change the categories to add your name or living place (too bad, because Vienna is beautiful, is one of mine to visit one day places) but we will talk better as soon as August settles in.
Welcome to the team, once more, is good to have another European around :o)

great i love shifters :)
Frost Burned would count?

I think I have "un- messed" my post, it now looks neat :)

Btw that will be my only contribution for Step #4, I've checked all the team members shelves and that's the only one for August that we have in common. I've already set up my whole August plan. Only real life can destroy it now :)

(Unless I'm wrong. o.o)

If you need help with the shelf settings just let me know and I do some print screens. I think LK has it somewhere but I can't find it now.

Quite handy. I added the page number, date read and publication date (for the decades challenge) to mine and it allows me to proper tag my read books and validations quicker.

Wanted to stay at home all day and read. That didn't happen. Wanted to get home early to read. That also didn't happen.
Wanted to reserve tomorrow's night to read. Real Life won't let that happen.
IT'S THE NEW KATE&CURRAN BOOK!!!
*sits on the floor sobbing*
The good news are that I only be able to finish it in a few days (YES, DAYS, THE HORROR) so it will count as a book in uniform (or other category)
That doesn't sheer me up that much.
*Off to bed sulking*

Hopefully will finish it tomorrow before August starts, though.

I used to read 3 books a week. Now I'm only reading 1, if I'm lucky, so I understand your feelings.
Maybe next book will be better :)

Sonia, thanks for helping Christine with the shelf sorting! And boo to you not getting to read your book! Can't sneak it in at lunch time at work?

I was drawn in by the cover and the promise of creepy stories but I was disappointed, only 2 stars :(

I have that on my TBR, I am sorry to hear that you don't like it.

Cpl. Dwayne Hicks in Aliens:

Kyle Reese in Terminator:

Oh, this isn't my door colour O.o
;) *whistles innocently*
Some really great book recs here, ladies! I might just have to get into the shifter fiction myself! Have people heard of Kelley Armstrong's

Is on my TBR for a while now, I keep looking at it and never pick it up. One of this days I'll have to change that!

Can you wait till September? Let me check August BR's calendar, but I think it is pretty full.

How is your August reading settings? Are you planning on reading

I am curious what happens in the final book Shades of Earth of the trilogy on Centauri-Earth :) I will read that one in August. I hope it is getting better.

I haven't heard of it before, I just checked with my library and they have it, therefore I put it on my tbr pile for fall.

Finished this book yesterday, read about 250 pages. It was so good! I'm a huge fan of the Tudor era and find Anne Boleyn fascinating. It was a fun read but made me a little sad since we know the outcome.
Historical fiction with some romance. :)

I love this book; if you are interested what's going on in the forest year around, you have to read it. The language is beautiful and not overly scientific, I never imagined that so much is going on and gained insights in the natural history I would not have if it wasnt for this book.
