In keeping with Sonia's "80s dudes in uniforms" theme, how about this guy? (I could not find a "perfect" picture of him in uniform, by my standards, so here are a few different ones!)

(OOPS! That is not a uniform! Oh well, heheh)

Man in uniform on a Triumph? Yes, please!

The scene that makes a million women swoon (among other things, I would imagine, hehe)

This is on Netflix streaming... I really want to watch it now. Sleep vs a movie about a man in uniform. This is such a tough call. Am seriously considering a nap on the couch while this movie runs...

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments Hi LK! Thx for the fast reply :) Do we have that as well or will consider this for the future?

message 907: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments No, we aren't required to do it. But I think it might be fun for the future.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Hello little cadets I am back and survived the family gathering weekly (barely).

My reading time was almost nonexistent since I only had the opportunity to read at bed time and I was so so so tired by then.

Anyway, I am determined to read two books this week to make up for it - yeah, I know, ambitious :o)

message 911: by Sonia (last edited Aug 05, 2013 02:46AM) (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments

Speaking in ambitious, we now have 483 books read. Let's try to get to 500 quickly, shall we?

And, since we are at it, and today is Monday, let's see who finish more books this week and wins the crayon of the week award - cadet blue version :o)

Cadets books goal
Christine 63 38,89%
Emy 28 35,00%
Jessica 8 13,33%
Jessica W 46 46,00%
Jex 9 22,50%
Lindy 104 40,00%
Lisa Kay 61 32,11%
Lisarenee 24 32,00%
Mod Account 27 36,00%
Sarah 101 50,50%
Sonia 10 25,00%

I'm going to consider two winners, the one who read more books this week by 1)Number and 2)by goal.

Happy readings!

message 912: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Next target, 500 Books!

And a uniform to match :o)

message 915: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments I love the cover - I am happy that I gave the series a chance, it was a 4 stars read, really enjoyed it. I am dying to read the 3rd book :)

message 916: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments finished Rock Chick Renegade (Rock Chick, #4) by Kristen Ashley

message 917: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Another blue cover. Nice Christine!

Rock Chick is one of those series that I'm tempted to start... but never do

message 918: by Jessica (last edited Aug 06, 2013 12:15PM) (new)

Jessica (thebookcellar) | 102 comments The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Finished listening to this book today. I believe it took roughly a week for me to finish listening to. It was pretty good, I like learning about Nazi Germany and seeing perspectives of it. Book was interesting, made me sad, and great character development.

Hopefully I can start reading a bit more, this month is harder then I thought it would be since I'm currently taking 3 college courses, and Biology is kicking my butt right now. :(

message 919: by Emy (new)

Emy | 52 comments Finished this today. Gah, my feels.
This Is Who I Am (Masters of the Shadowlands, #7) by Cherise Sinclair

message 920: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments The internet connection at the mountain sucks. I barely managed to check in. I finished rock chick revenge & I loved Ava & Luke's story, I want a Luke for myself :) Cant wait to read Stella & Mace's story in the next book but that has to wait until i'm down the mountain again :(

@Sonia: you should give the first book "rock chick" a try, the story of Indy and Lee is hilarous :)

message 921: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Rock Chick added to my TBR pile :o)

message 922: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments So, we now have 486 books read (On message 922 I forgot to deduct Mary and Laura - bad Sonia)

And for the crayon of the week, our standards are:

Cadets books read
Christine 66 3
Emy 29 1
Sarah 102 1
Jessica 8 0
Jessica W 46 0
Jex 9 0
Lindy 104 0
Lisa Kay 61 0
Lisarenee 24 0
Mod Account 27 0
Sonia 10 0

Go team!

I was a HUGE fan of the show

message 924: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments no particular reason

message 925: by Emy (new)

finished Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs

message 930: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments you are secret weapon and most probably will be the crayon of the week

got to think of cool picture prize.

*giggles*

I finally was able to read yesterday but they were novellas so don't count for the challenge, but I'm going to refer them the same

What Really Happened in Peru (The Bane Chronicles, #1) by Cassandra Clare - I was a bit disappointed with it, I had high hopes since I was a Magnus fan and was waiting for his book for a while.

Dawn of Eden by Julie Kagawa - ebook version. I loved it. I just wanted it to show more of the development of the mutated virus and the forming of the vampire cities, but it had a sweet romance story, so it compensates. And it gets me more motivated to wait for the The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa buddy read next month

message 931: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments finished Drink Deep (Chicagoland Vampires, #5) by Chloe Neill 2,5-3 stars (disappointing)

message 932: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Good lord, Christine, do you sleep, work, or eat? All you do is read!? :D

message 933: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments working not so much - more working out as in hiking, I am on a holiday in the mountains :) The air is really good and I am totally motivated to get a new record in books read this week :) I am bursting with energy! Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Sorry for my absence Ladies and Steven (because I know you are stalking our uniforms), but my last week migraine got worse during the weekend... I did manage finishing a book between naps and getting sick and temporary relief caused by meds. I thought I finally got rid of it last night till I wake up at 6 AM today in pain. thank the heavens for painkillers and sunglasses.

Will update the finished thread soon and announcing the crayon of the week award... I had the feeling that is going to be to our secret weapon, but I need to check out the tracker to make sure.

See ya in a few.

message 943: by Sonia (new)
