Cool! I'll try to get back to my reading.

Next week we need to start thinking on September's BAP challenge...

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments September is a waking nightmare just thinking about it. *shiver* I have enlisted myself for a trillion BRs, all goodish books and as always I couldnt resist. The longer I am with GR the higher the tbr pile gets. *lol*

what are the options for BAP in September? (searching in the hidden parts of my brain I think I have read somewhere something ... but forgot again what it was)

message 954: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments We need to do 3 NBRC challenges as a team.
The one book a day keeps the boredom at bay, one A to Z and a third one.

I'll be busy from thursday to saturday with my niece's first b-day party but on sunday I'm planning to check on NBRC's buddy reads (we can use those on the mod account) and ours to see if there is a third challenge that can use most of them... then the A to Z also can be used for those books... and we can go from there.

Haha, I'm so looking forward to September. I'm thinking of taking a week off work just to keep up with 4 BRs within one week :)

Jessica (thebookcellar) | 102 comments I dropped my biology class and I feel so much better! A little bit more free time. I have 2 weeks left of class and I'm looking forward to that. Congrats to all the progress everyone is making! :)

James Francis "Jim" Thorpe (May 28, 1888 – March 28, 1953) was an American athlete of mixed ancestry (Caucasian and Native American). Considered one of the most versatile athletes of modern sports, he won Olympic gold medals for the 1912 pentathlon and decathlon, played American football (collegiate and professional), and also played professional baseball and basketball.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I did the big masthead slider puzzle #111 for Cadet Blue. It is worth a "Triple Threat." Is someone doing the new "Spot the Difference" series with Romeo and Juliette? Does someone want to do the jigsaw?

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments Darn. My kindle's battery just went dead at a point I was really enjoying Rock Chick Reckoning (Rock Chick, #6) by Kristen Ashley I hate when I get interrupted at a good part. It's kind of pissing me off that I'm so dependant on the kindle nowadays. And when I'm wired for a book I can't switch to another one either, I'm just crazy that way. I got off from work today extra early to enjoy my reading time

Finished ranting for now ...

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments @Sonia: btw I will be in for the September challenge whatever it is.

The little one's birthday parties are the best! I always enjoyed to buy tons of cute clothes for the kids :) I still think that kids have cuter & cooler clothes than adults :)

message 975: by Christine (new)

Christine (inhalesbookslikepopcorn) | 1052 comments I vote that we do the Author Alphabet Reading Challenge for the September Challenge. That seems to be the easiest A-Z challenge to coordinate.

message 976: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I'm good with any A-Z challenge. I'm not picky :o)

message 977: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Me, either. Author A-Z is fine with me.

message 978: by Emy (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Found my library book I misplaced and have been looking for all week. I haven't had a library fine in quite awhile. It is up to $3. The book had slipped behind my headboard.

Oh no - at least you found it!

message 986: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Yeah. That's true. Still, it seems to be money issue week. LOL!

message 987: by Rebecca NJ (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments A few dollars to the library isn't really a bad thing (or so that's what I think to get me through my fines!)

You could also remember that it was still cheaper than if you had to buy the book ;)

message 988: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Very true. I really just didn't want to blemish my shinning record. **hee hee**

Weeeee!

message 991: by Jex (new)

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments I actually finished a book! I listened to the audiobook of The Lost Symbol (Robert Langdon, #3) by Dan Brown , which I definitely should have read it instead of listening. Too much info to absorb. I feel like I missed a lot of things to my wandering brain. Oh well.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Still... Yay, Jex! Another book down.

message 993: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments OK, you guys may have to give me a few days to get all my books tagged. I am also going to have to change my book goal. I won't be anywhere close to the original one I set.

message 994: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Super, Laura! So glad you're back.

Go to your read shelf. Then sort your books by date read. After that, try Batch Editing, option #2.

message 995: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments Oh and Lisa Kay, Somehow I got deleted from the other group. Not sure if my mom accidentally did it when she was messaging and looking around on my account.

Are we still using the tower team II group page?

message 996: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments Oh, wow! The batch editing made it so easy to move the books onto the shelf. I am still using the same shelf that I originally signed up with.

message 997: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Could be she did, because we sure didn't. I sent you another invite. Your challenge is still there. Just follow the goal changing screens I sent you and you should be all set.

message 998: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments I think I managed to get it all done. I changed my goal and moved books to my shelf, just let me know if they don't show up for some reason.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Looks good, Laura. I see 14.

message 1000: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Good Morning Cadets!!!

@Laura

@Team
We didn't read 550 *sad face*
But, according to the SU, we now have 538 books, just ONE book difference from Purple Majestic - the team ahead of us

*shakes head to self for not finishing the two books started last week*

Anyway, good job team, especially our secret weapon, she is unstoppable!

Speaking of secret weapon, I'm going to start assembly our books for the August BAP challenge and see which categories are done and which we still need to fill. Results will not be final since we probably will rotate some books, but we need to see how we are standing now.

As soon as I get that under control, I'll start working on September Challenge. Since the mods have some challenges on the workshop to launch, my suggestion is we only decide on the third one on the last week of August.

Till there we're going to need who wants to participate in order to percentage and books needed calculations.

So far the participants are:
Christine
Sonia
Lisa Kay

Challenges:
1)A book a day keeps the boredom at bay (mandatory)
2)A to Z challenge: Author Alphabet Reading Challenge
3)TBD
