Cadet Blue

Real Life has been specially demanding of our beloved captain, Baroness Blue, so she had to step out from captain duties, but she likes our team so much that she'll be around as our team mascot, cheerleader extraordinaire and master of posting images.
So, for the rest of the duration of the challenge (and to kick all other teams read-o-meters, or having fun trying to read them of scale) I'll be stepping in for captain duties.
*waits for the screams of the angry mob*
*looks around*
No pitches and forks? Good. If anyone prefers to dress the captain's uniform just let me know, OK? If not, that means you are all mine *evil laugh*
*stops laughing and searches for pitches and forks*
*sighs of relief*

Hopefully my reading will pick up as well.

When I was a math tutor first 2 weeks were awful, it seemed like the summer erased all that was learned the year before.. plus all the fuss of being back to the routine...
*shudders*

How does it work? Simple. The amazing ones behind the Sunday Update spreadsheet made all the math for us and determined what is our book number for the challenge.
I'll have to read the rules once more to know about Laura's books since the deadline was before she was fully back. We then split our numbers between the three challenges.
Important note: we don't have to complete the challenge for it to count.
For example:
Laura said she was doing Guinea Pig for the animal alphabet challenge. She can read only 4 letters, or we can help her too, or she can read 2 letters only and read the other 2 books for the other two challenges.
Did I make sense? I'm thinking too many things at same time, and speed typing, so I apologize in advanced.

*blows raspberry at LK*

finished

I don't know why I've waited so long to read this, but I MUST read the rest of the series NOW. btw I rated it 5 stars
September challenge: either C or G -> Gail Carriger OR it counts for the anti-boredom challenge #1 "one word title".
Sonia, your explanation makes sense to me :) thx.

Yes, LOVED that series, Christine.

Christine wrote: "I had to update my yearly goal again, its now 182 books."
Thanks, Christine, got it!

Christine wrote: "I have one or two questions to the September challenge, do books count that have been started before 01.09. and finished in Sept?
Yes. Anything finished in September counts.
Christine wrote: "And if e.g. my goal for the challenge is 16 books and I exceed the number of books do we still get points for the challenge? (I have about 4 books I only half-finished in the last week because I got sick. I plan to finish them though.)"
Yes.

Yes.

9.9% = 4 9 BAP
8.33 to 9.8% = 2 7 BAP
7 to 8.2 = 1 5 BAP
I figured it out and cracked by brain ;) With my goal of 182 books I have to read 18 books for 9.9% & we get 9 points? Yes?
and btw the post #20 link does not work :(
sorry to be a pain in the ass

9.9% = 4 9 BAP
8.33 to 9.8% = 2 7 BAP

fixed post #20
For challenge purposes we decided that the target goal by the August 18th Sunday Update will be the one used for determine the percentage.
Thus, your goal will be:
15.00 (8.33%) 12.00(7%) 18.00(9.9%)

* Each participant suggests an animal, for the animal alphabet challenge - it doesn't mean your books had to fit your own letters, is to have a bigger range of choices.
* Every time you finish a book, just say it here or mark it as finished on the sister group thread (or both) - If you can see a item on the book-a-day challenge it will fit, I'll appreciate the info :o)
* I'll be adding members and goals and updating both threads, as members who want to participate say they want too - this challenge is for want to participate only
* Since 1/3 of our books must be for the a book a day challenge, I'll be fitting our finished books there first. As soon as a category is chosen, it will be that way unless we have a book that doesn't have other place to go.
* Since the book a day challenge can be overwhelming, if you are having trouble on finding some characteristic that matches your book, just let me know, I'll try to help.
* And last, why is this challenge so special? Well, every single one of the mods added a little piece. All our ideas combined had this awesome result, the proof of what a true team work can be :o)

@Sonia, thx for the info. I will also think of an animal :)

Anyway I will update my thread tomorrow after I get a full nights rest. I'm a little burnt... :)
Good job everyone!!

@Jessica: I never went to fishing it seems fun. Glad to have you back! Sweet dreams :o)
*whispers to Christine* I can't get use to say good night at 9 AM *giggles*

What happens if I read more than 5 books? >.<
Also, my animal will be Rabbit. (After my rabbit Merlin! :) )

It isn't mandatory, but I think it would be fun try to complete our chosen animals :-)
Will add rabbit to the list when I get home

I already started my first book :) I will plan out the rest of them tomorrow night. I am going to go lay down and read.

A random tidbit: Tiger in both Portuguese and English uses the same letters but spelled differently:
English: TIGER
Portuguese: TIGRE
*grins*

#10 is my secret weapon, I have plenty of Paulo Coelho books in my self, that I read a few years ago and they are quick reads *grins*

Is easier to swap books when they are already assigned instead of sorting through a pile :o)
I have Hex Hall #3 on my TBR - A VERY QUICK READ - if you need an "H" let me know... plus is a YA with a love triangle - easy to fit in a-book-a-day.
I have my "G" covered with Gin, from tangled threads, so if you need Great Gatsby, you can have it :)

**chuckles** Yeah, she's dealing in stolen goods and trying to pass them on to me! ☺

I think it would be fun, after we reach the 9,9% trying to complete our 5 animals. What do you think?

Otherwise, sure, I'll give H.E.D.G.E.H.O.G. a go.

Oh, I get it. I wasn't thinking of it... I know... I'll use another thread to cadet blue's personal September challenge - spell-it-out our chosen animals - all read books count, even the ones used on September BAP's.
I'll set things up during lunch our.
I'll have to "pretend" to work now :)
And you young lady, need to sleep!
