 48 Hour<br />Puzzle Crazy

Cool Text: Logo and Graphics Generator

We've had the addition of a few new Teams,
Who are also sharing our TTRC dreams.

It only seems fair they should get a chance,
at all those puzzles that hold you, as well as entrance.

But I don't want to leave you out of the fun,
so you'll get an opportunity, too, at those NOT done.

I'll give extra hours to Banana Mania, Forest Green, and Pewter & Cadet Blue,
who also has a lot of members who are new, too.

Still, all the rest of you are granted forty-eight.
“Rev Your Engines!” to get a running start at the gate.

I've given you some important links below.
Remember, there are more links in Post #1, to the puzzles, you know?

Okay, 48 hours to you, and 72 hours for the Teams that are new.
I'm excited! Let me see how many cupcakes you can accrue.

Oh! By the way, your time starts now!
Stop reading this and get working. Holy Cow!

Here is where to post!

Yay! I love fun & books! & I like the idea that the thread you created has no monthly restrictions ;) Maybe I can spell out KOALA or JAGUAR next month.

Happy reading everyone!

message 1166: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments I am back at work. It went well, I have just been extremely busy. I think that the stress may have triggered the illness that I am currently feeling.

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Hello cadets!

I know I'm late for a team update. Sorry, but work has been busy this past few days... I've been around and reading most of the threads, just haven't had time (or mindset) to work on our fun stuff yet.

Will be back to normal in a day or two.

Now back to my deadline

Congrats on the new addition to your family. Let us know what kind you get.

message 1175: by Lisa Kay (last edited Sep 10, 2013 12:59PM) (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments BTW, I'm working my way though our bookshelves and redeeming cupcakes. I cashed in one "Triple Threat" and three "chunksters" using Emy's books yesterday. Plus, three of Christine's for "chunksters."

That's 8 BAPs!

Today for "Triple Threats" I used one of Sonia's and two of Sarah's. For "chunksters" I used six of Catherine's, three of Jessica's (TheEvangelineLily), five of Laura's, and one of Jessica W's.

Yay! (Hopefully they will all be approved and give us 21 more BAPs.

If any of you want to help do the puzzles that would be wonderful. The puzzles for September are here . I already did #131 & #134. However, we need the "Spot the Differences" series done.

Cupcakes for us! Woohoo!

message 1176: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Thanks Lisa Kay!I never understand the redeeming cupcakes although I must confess I have yet to look at the rules with big care.

So I arrived home almost at 10 PM tired, hungry and with an headache but I wanted to read The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2) by Julie Kagawa . I am without words and wanted to hit something or someone too. The book was even better than the first one, I'm going to give it 5 stars.... and write a furious letter to JK demanding the next one right now and asking her HOW CAN SHE DO THAT KIND OF THING TO HER CHARACTERS...

The “Cutthroat Competitor Cupcake” is coming!

This is a cupcake that’s NOT fooling around.
Hard to conquer, but your BAPs will surely mound.

You thought the “Triple Threat” was hard to earn?
This one’s NOT vinegar; yet, neither is it sauterne.

This cupcake counts as ‘cuatro’ – which translates to four.
With a 350,000-word-endurance, these books are worth tons more.

This Captain will give you four BAPs to really increase your points.
After all that page turning, this isn’t one that disappoints.

message 1181: by Laura (new)

Laura (lglovett) | 1444 comments I am sorry guys. I am not being much help towards our goal. I have been thwarted at every opportunity to read. I am feeling deprived. I will be finishing one book finally tonight. Hopefully a second by Sunday.

for this cuatro cupcake - how many pages are 350,000-words?

FYI

I updated my challenge goal to 200.

Announcement:

With regards to “Cutthroat Competitor Cupcakes,” 350,000 words = 1,400 pages.

However, keep in mind that for some of the longer books they squeeze more words on per page. We go by word count first, when we can find it, then refer to WorldCat.

Sooooo... that is why sometimes you will see an 800 or 900 page book count as a “Cutthroat Competitor.”

Also, your Captain has a link to a list of approved books, to which we will continue to add. Thus far they are:
An American Tragedy
Atlas Shrugged)
A Breath of Snow and Ashes
The Civil War, Vol. 1: Fort Sumter to Perryville
The Count of Monte Cristo
A Dance With Dragons
The Fiery Cross
A Storm of Swords
It
Les Misérables
Sacajawea
Voyager
The Wise Man's Fear

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments I finished Mind Games (Mind Games, #1) by Kiersten White last night. Huge cliffhanger...which is annoying. But that seems to be the trend these days. Get you interested in the characters, then put the actual action in book 2. We'll see what happens with it. Of course book 2 isn't available until 2014....
