So I was a bit sad because all was pointing to us falling short in about 8 books - and I was feeling a LOUSY team captain because I let the deadline of changing participation pass... till I decided, let's take a peak to Christine's shelf... And you know what... I'm feeling much better... final results in a bit. *grins*

Arrrrgggggghhhh I miss the counting.... even using Laura's The Prophet, that she read in September but didn't tagg it on Cadet's shelf, we are only 47 instead of 48!!!!!

Has anyone close to finish another one???? I have 7 hours left on hounded... *sigh*

Thanks Jessica. I'm updating the posts with the books read, and then will re-count again. We alreadyy have books for the 8% solution, that will earns us 7 BAP. But not winning the 9 BAP's for one book is itching me all over.

OK, threads updated (links bellow) We needed 48 books for the 9.9% option. We have now 47, divided as follow:

16 read/16 needed for the a book a day keeps the boredom at bay

5 books for the A- Z author Challenge

26 books for the Animal Alphabet Spell-it-Out

I'll be waiting to post the results till my 10 PM - in 4 hours. After that I'll submit the current results

we did it. it was a close call. You read the double of what your goal was. AWESOME

I've decided I'm going to shoot for 2,800 pages for my R-a-T goal.

I still don't know how many pages I should try for... somewhere between 2,500 - 3,000. I'm tackling a beast coming in at a total of 1060 just for that book alone.

So, this month I'm going CRAZY and try to read half of Lisa Kay's books *grins* so I'm aiming for 1400. I'm not sure when I'm going to find time to read, but I'm sure going to try! :D

That is my plan, Jessica. I just haven't made a decision on which on. I actually have several unopened CDs to choose from, or maybe I could download from the library the audio of (which I read years ago, but loved).

Lots of decisions! Sounds like it may be tough Decision. I have two Stephen King books that I haven't read yet: Cujo and Carrie. :)

Also, if you guys know some books you are planning to read (doesn't have to be concrete) just so I can have a rough draft that's cool, if not I'm great at on the fly work too! ;)

Well, depends. Am I doing Task #1 (Theme #2: Masters of Horror) or is someone else? I don't know if I can start my Dean Koontz book on the 4th or not. (Too many BOMs and "buddy reads"!) I might get to it on the 5th, however.

It depends on what you would like to do! I haven't started reading yet as I have had a busy day today. Tomorrow I have work and class. Blah... Hopefully I can get a book done tomorrow plus finish updating some threads.

Just want this day to be over!!!

ATTENTION, THE RULES FOR BAP's AWARDING HAVE CHANGED:

◈ Each event will have a book advantage awarding, as follows:

EVENT #1:

1st Place:10 BAP's
2nd Place:8 BAP's
3rd Place:6 BAP's
4th Place:4 BAP's
5th Place:2 BAP's

In case of a tie, the full amount of book points will be granted to the tied teams.

EVENT #2:

Tasks 1 to 5: 1 BAP per task completed
Final task: 5 BAP's

Each team participating in the read-a-thon will receive 5 BAP's - and yes, it's cummulative

Sorry, still plugging away at Task #1 book . I didn't realize it was a "chunkster" when I selected it. Of course, every author in that Theme writes "chunksters"!!! LOL!

Yay! FINISHED Task #1: Theme #2: Masters of Horror.

Here are the numbers for that one:


Watchers, by Dean Koontz (ODA) = FINISHED audio (15 hours 21 minutes) = 165,800 words = 664 pages. Not sure how to count this, as it is a "chunkster" and longer than the paperback indicates. So, I'm going by hours. I did find a corresponding paperback with that number of pages, though that isn't what my paperback copy has.

Aww... Thanks, Jessica! I was stressing over it. I think I'll lay off audios for awhile; my ears hurt for some many hours in the last day. LOL!
