ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Oh noes! Just for that...

(I actually wanted to do a facepalm picture but all the ones I found were so MEAN! I wanted to facepalm in jest but didn't have the heart to post those cruel things for someone so adorable as you! So, here's a Friends picture because I know it's your favorite show and this is one of my favorite scenes).

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I've found a Harpie book! I've found a Harpie book!!!

Sorry, I had to share that one - actually is a Harpie series, too bad the blue cover one is the third book. I am so gonna read Airborne for the mythical creatures challenge :o)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments mythical creature challenge?

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments Never saw that. Thought maybe I had missed something to do with the read-a-thon.

Nope. Please don't feed ideas to the brain when I didn't sleep my usual 8 hours - the RaT is the result from the last time that happened :o)

message 310: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Gosh, even the mod account has more books read than me :S

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Oh! Poor Sonia!

message 312: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I guess I have so many books I want to read that I start them all and don't finish any.

message 313: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Well, I got four finished, but two of those were started before the R-a-T. I'm still two books behind my goal; I'm usually two ahead. **sigh**

message 314: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments That sounds like me. I want to read every book at once.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Great picture, Mary!

And yes, I also like to start books because I want to read them all. I've had to hunker down with True Blue, though, because it's the longest of my planned reading for this RaT and it's my uniform book so I *have* to complete it! I'm almost done, though!! It's really good. Then, I'm onto 3 or 4 really fast reading YA novels.

message 317: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I'm so jealous. I have to wait until the 7th!

I'm almost finished with my blue book. Getting sleepy though so might have to finish it tomorrow.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Ugh, I'm almost done with my uniform book and I'm soooo tired! I fell asleep on the couch already, trying to finish it but then I woke up so I could get to bed but of course I had to come refresh Goodreads first, hehe. Maybe this will give me that boost of energy I need in order to finish. I can't even remember the last couple of pages I read, I was that out of it, lol.

I wonder if you finished yours! Been two hours since you posted about it. Will have to find out in the morning, hehe.

message 319: by Mary X (last edited May 05, 2013 05:14AM) (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments No I couldn't stay awake. Actually I could physically. But I am going to get the vegetable plants with my Mother at noon. After that my friend is coming over to help me make a garden bed, put up the chicken wire fence around it and to dig up some sumac that has invaded my yard. So I wanted to be up early to get some housework done because I won't have the energy to do any tonight.

I'm having my Kindle read it to me while I do housework. According to my Kindle, I only have about 8% left. This one doesn't give a page count but the book is under 400 pages so not much left.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Finished my book this morning. Woo! Next few should be fast reading.

Have fun with all of the gardening, Mary!! I love to garden but we have problems with grackles getting into our veggies so I'm going to wait until I can set up a greenhouse to work on veggies again.

I think I may try to read a blue and/or uniform type of book every month, in honor of our team. Just for fun. We'll see.. I need to set up a shelf for uniforms and I have already started one for blue covers. I'm a very moody reader so I will just check each of those shelves every month and see if there's anything calling to me to read.

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments But I finished my blue book. I'll do an update before I go to bed tonight. Going to see if anyone else has finished anything.

message 323: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments LOL!

Yay! Just in time for the Sunday Update! Woohoo!

Yeah, I'm coming to the end of mine, too, Mary: HDLS.

message 324: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I forgot to mark it read earlier so it might not register on the Sunday update. But I just did it now.

message 325: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments That's good. I can wait a half an hour, since I just "tagged" mine, too. LOL!

message 326: by ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (last edited May 05, 2013 08:33PM) (new)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Man, I feel bad for dropping the ball on our Sunday update. I got the spreadsheet all updated this afternoon and in the process, our team page was updated but still! I've had a headache lingering all day long, then got wrapped up in 3 hours of season finales on TV in the other room so doing the update completely slipped my mind until I came to the computer at 10 PM and saw that the updates were, well...updated (hehe).

Congrats on all reading that has been accomplished this week!

Going to bed a little bit after I check around Goodreads for more updates of any sort. Adieu!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Not a problem, Teresa. Rebecca and I had it covered. ☺

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I thought you went to sleep, Teresa! LOL!

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments After I finish up some stuff. :p And I got wrapped up in a thread I'd forgotten I was participating in, LOL! I'm tired but not tired. My headache is starting to ease up so I figured I should get a little more Goodreads out of my system before retiring. Shhh! Pretend you don't see me, LOL! *sneaks off*

message 332: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments OK guys. The good news is that we are no longer in last place. The bad news is that we are still in the bottom half.

message 333: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I'll try to finish unwind today. Promise! I even will stay away from mu computer before finishing the last 69 pages.

Since I already pre-ordered Dead Ever After and will stop everything I have pending and jump right into it as soon as I have it on my kindle.

Maybe I should call sick tomorrow? *giggles*

message 334: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Haha, Sonia... I'd totally do that if I had some time built up. :D

message 335: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Well work has been so demanding/stressful lately that I already put on 4 more pounds - I tend to overcompensate with food as most overweight people do.

*sigh*

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Oh well... I'll have to hit the gym more often after the RaT.

And stop eating junk.

message 338: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I know the feeling. :(

message 339: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yes, as an accountant I believe you do!

I'm a database programmer, but now I was send as a task force to a big project testing set. It is crazyness installed.

message 340: by Mary X (new)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 5588 comments I've decided to (finally) landscape my place and I've lost 3 lbs. My friend has been helping me though so no listening to audiobooks while I work. But I get more done when she comes to help.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Congrats, Mary! It's nice to have someone around to help keep you motivated and help you get things done so a little bit of reading sacrifice is probably worth it.

What I hate is when I work my 8-hour shifts with big groups of people (like when we do over-nights, such as tonight and tomorrow night) and we all go to lunch at the same time. I have a hard time reading because they all want to talk and I would really just rather read because 8 hours is a long time to go without my reading, LOL! Plus, while I enjoy them all in general, I feel TOO stimulated from all the chatter (I'm an introvert and I crave my solitude if I'm working with people for long periods of time). It's hard sometimes to get my reading in and not feel like I'm snubbing them all but I liken it to everyone playing on their cell phones --reading is my pleasure, and I don't pester them while they are playing their games. When I read, I want to get lost in the story, not keep getting pulled out to respond to something someone else said. Bad enough I only get 30 minutes to read. During the day, I can escape to the bench outside the workplace, or even to the coffee shop at the book store. During the night, we keep the doors locked.

Reading at home is a different story. I don't mind family obligations and interruptions, naturally. But, when I'm "forced" into a social situation (lunch at work), it really irks me to have my precious time stolen from me.

Anyway, going to walk to the library. I've been putting it off because I have a book on hold but it's taking forever to get from downtown to my branch so I'll just get it later tonight or tomorrow.

message 342: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Yeah, Mary: HDLS, I lost weight when I remodeled my house, too. It is a lot of work; you can see why people in the olden days didn't need to go to the gym!

message 343: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Yes, I can understand that, Teresa. Plus, you spend all day with them - and lunch too? It isn't really a break then, is it?

While I have been tracking people who have posted NO book at all, I have NOT been tracking those who have NOT posted books since first joining. It is important that you give me this information, as I believe we have one or two bogus accounts.

Thank you.
