Cadet Blue

Then, much to our surprise, we discovered 3 little newborn kittens in our shed this afternoon. Only one was alive. :( We brought him/her in to take care of over night until we can take it to the shelter tomorrow. As much as I love animals, we just don't have the time or money or means to take care of a brand new baby cat! So sad. I hope the baby makes it through the night. I bought some KRM and fed it and have it all snuggled up in a box nest in my bathroom, where it's nice and warm and dark. Poor thing was abandoned by the mother, I guess. It can't be more than 2 or 3 days old.

My beautiful Kalli (see my pictures) was rescued at two days old and she has lived a long and happy life. Her 5 siblings didn't make it quite as long (only one lived past kitten, and she got cancer a few years ago), but at the very least, if it doesn't make it, it was given a fighting chance and was loved.
<3 thinking of you and your kitty conundrum <3

Specially with the day I had at work (still having) and with the lack of sleep due to Simba's new trick with a faucet.
*sigh*

Very weird.
Teresa, try comparing her "read" books and her "currently-reading" with her "tower-team-cadet-blue" books.
BTW, she has a book "tagged" that is less than 160 pages.

I've got the worst headache right now so i'll look at that book you mentioned under 160 pgs later. thanks!
Please be advised that the link to the

I also did an update.
I also did an update.

I'm very tired but wanted to peek in and say hello and goodnight to you all. Happy Reading!!
edit:
I forgot! I dont' think I ever updated anyone. My cat came home around 2 nights after he got out. He was skulking around on the roof meowing at like 5:00 AM, while it was raining so yeah it was quite a sight to see me trying to coax him off the roof, LOL! I had to lure him to the fence that is just a few feet down from the roof so he jumped to that and then I had to try to pick him up, which is so fun with a wriggling, meowing cat. Anyway, he's home safe and sound and he's eternally grounded from ever going outside, even supervised.
The kitten we rescued for one night found a home, too. And I hope he/she is doing well but I'm happy just knowing that someone who was truly serious about nursing it took it in. Was fate - we were taking the kitten to the local animal shelter when a woman was parking her car next to us. When she saw/heard my squawking cardboard box, curiosity got the best of her and she asked what I was carrying. I showed her and she told me that she'd nursed 5 kittens from birth when her own cat was unable to nurse, plus her mother is a retired veterinarian so she took the kitten to raise! So happy that sweetie found a home.

Two of our more chatty people left for other blue pastures.
so, what's new, everyone? How is the reading coming along?

Hey, I give you guys baked goodies! That's why I'm the muffin fairy! :)

@Muffin Fairy
But you give them to everyone. We're not special :("
Guess again! I only give baked goods to everyone when I'm feeling like a cheerleader, but LJB and Mango Tango hold special spots in my fluffy heart. I just haven't been feeling very fluffy lately. I'll make it up to you guys!

My sister shared it on her FB page and I just couldn't resist

Great challenge, but I'm just not there for it mentally at this time. I don't really intend to track it or follow the thread for it or keep track of books that may accidentally qualify or anything, unless I *must* as a team captain. I don't have the space in my brain for thinking beyond my personal goals for the summer so if anyone wants to take charge and track that challenge, go for it.
SOME CHANGES:
If only one Team completes this task, we will award them seven (7) additional books/points. If it is split, as it was for May, we will award each Team reaching the goal four (4) additional books/points. Any Team that completes at least three (3) of the following categories, for a total of 21 books, will receive a one (1) book advantage.
For the purposes of this challenge, and because their Team goals are so low, we are going to allow Cadet Blue and Pewter Blue to work together as a Team.

Okay, I already babbled in Pewter Blue but I'll go ahead and add a thought here since I am here and I'm about to head offline.
I realize this challenge won't start for another 10 days so I'll put my insane-in-the-membrane confusion on hold for a few days, then I'll try to sort it out later!
Sure hope some other people in the team pipe in with their thoughts on it in the next few days...

Bwahaha, yes, as soon as I figure out how the categories and rules work. I am confused on a few things but I'll worry about them later, I've got time! I think of my brain as an 'in-box/out-box' and right now the in-box is full and I have to put a few tasks into the out-box before I can take more in.

If I don't get things sorted out, this is what will happen:

I'm really stressing myself out over this and I know a challenge is supposed to be 'challenging' but I want it to also be fun and honestly, it's just not fun for me to think about all that it entails. I know that I still am confused on some parts and that I said I'd let it sit for a few days and maybe my mind is turning a molehill into a mountain but ultimately, I am not going to be able to shut that part of my brain off without just coming right out and saying that I just don't want to keep track of it. I'm good with doing my regular captain duties but I feel too much pressure to be hyper aware of the challenge categories and how books might fit in and then there's the whole "if x number of people complete this, then x number can't and you can only do x category x number of times" and blah, head explode.
I'm sorry if that makes me a bad captain. :( I feel bad but I know my limitations and honestly, I wanted my focus for the next three months to be more on carefree summer fun and this challenge feels like it might be more work than fun.

I am so confused about this 7% challenge. I just cannot wrap my ahead around it much like the RAT mini-challenges. But I'm sure I'll figure it out. If I read it right the main gist is that teams read 49 books as a team total for that time but the books have to come from those categories & only so many can come from each category? So Cadet & Pewter Blue are being combined for that since we are both smaller teams.
