I've read it before, as well as the sequel The King of Attolia, and really enjoyed them but it was a few years ago. One of the books I've put on my list to read this year is the 4th book, A Conspiracy of Kings, and I wanted to refresh my memory before starting it.

No, but I added The Queen to my tbr.

If you liked The Thief, Queen is even better.

Well, now that I know that leadership comes from within, not from above, I may be a threat after all... Duhn duhn DUHN! Just joking. I don't feel any need to take the reins of the group. But I did enjoy this book a lot and highly recommend it.

I got the book that has been on my TBR the longest (the ones from my bookshelf are rereads). It is and so far it is really good.

Yea, I'm done! It was a good read. I'm glad I got to it.

Cherie, Necromancer was my second. I thought about trying for a third, but only had a couple of hours before going to pick my mother up from the airport Today I won't get any serious reading done unless it's later tonight. I'm happy with 2 this time.

One of my shelves is titled "Not for me." I fairly recently created it so I can keep track of books I've started but rejected along with notes about why. Do you all do anything like this to keep track?

Yes. I have a DNF shelf for the same reason. Sometimes a book is just poorly written or includes a plot device or character I cannot stand.

I read enough that I need a reminder about why I didn't like a book so I don't go for a reread.

I have an abandoned shelf. Most of them I haven't written why, as they are so burnt into my brain why I gave them up, I need no reminders (I also don't put down many books).

Oh and I have a Thrown Books shelf for those I did finish and have literally thrown across the room in disgust. forgot about that one heh

I also have a shelf named "abandoned". Sometimes I make comments as to why I gave up on it.

I have an 'abandoned' shelf and at times write why it wasn't for me. LOL, Rusalka, good idea for the thrown books shelf, I usually suffice with giving them a 1 star rating and writing a short review about why I didn't like it.

I got one book read and started a 2nd that I am going to have to put aside to catch up on some others. I finally got to read The Giver which has been on my TBR list for a long time. It was a great read although there are two follow up books to the trilogy that I need to acquire and read now. My 2nd book has been on my list for a long time too, but was just too long to hope to finish.

Cherie, I've heard great things about The Giver, and about Lois Lowry in general. I'm glad the book suited you.

I have a "started-but-never-finished" shelf. I have one book there that I decided I hated after I was half way through, and another that I have never gotten around to finishing, but not because I did not like it. It is not very efficient. Most just linger on my currently reading shelf until I finish them, IF they get started.

I have a few of those books too Cherie. Some I'm wondering if I'll ever finish, but I'm not ready to give up on them yet.

Mine go to the "bring-em-back-alive" shelf, usually because they were due at the library before I could get to them. I don't usually return a book half read; I'll pay the over-due penalty if I have to.☻

Some are there because I want to re-read them at some point.

I like "bring-em-back-alive"! I owe 15 cents for a book that I returned late and I never got to read it. I could not extend it because there was a hold on it.

Debra and I have to consult each other occasionally, so that we don't compete for the same book from the library which will then cut the renewal time short.
