Wow I've never really thought about it like that but I think your friends have a good point. It is quite based on lust and that gets me how they only know each other for a couple of months. I mean you can't form that strong a love that quickly right? But I am a Clace fan and it is fiction so I think Cassie wants it to be honest love but just with all the teen bits that come with it:)

You have a point there but yet again Romeo and Juliet happened in a week xD so that should say everything, it's a fictional book lets have a little imagination and enjoy the stuff going on

I think she has a good point but Simon towards the city of fallen angels he started developing feelings for Isabelle and in city of lost souls may have fallen in love with her as she has with him!!

your friend has a good point but i think they are just kissing in city of fallen angels and city of lost souls but that is because he is possessed but in City of heavenly fire they cant go farther than a kiss... But they trully love each other because Clary could ask for ANYTHING still she asked for Jace

How would you know what happens in COHF if it hasn't come out yet? And the only reason Jace won't kiss her much is because he's afraid he'll burn her.

I Think they don't love each other in the way of real love, they've been trough so many situations and they have a conection, but real love? I don't know...maybe Jace, because he thinks of Calry since he saw her and he wants to be wherever she is, but Clary...in the start of the series she only thinks he is goodlooking (and hell yeah he is) but I never felt Clary's dedication as I felt Jace's

I think the pull Jace felt toward Clary in the beginning had to do with the fact that they both had angel blood, but then he really fell in love with her. You can see that in Ashes and Glass because they thought they were brother and sister and yet still had crazy feelings for each other, and if it was just lust, then Clary would have given up on Jace and moved on to Simon.

They do love each other... Jace would die for her.
