Yes! I am so sorry! I meant Miss Marple. This is what happens when you try to do something after an insane day at work.

Really old. :) If you end up with a few books you know you've had a long long time, I would pick the one I think I bought/got first.

Oh well, I'll just have to fit in somewhere else!

hey guys - since its a long weekend in the US - I am going to extend this set of challenges until monday night (even though the read-a-thon ended today) - so you have a little bit longer to squeeze some books in
new ones will be up Monday night sometime

Here is the next set of challenges. This group of challenges will run through May 25th (the end of the third Read-a-thon).
1. Dee's Goal - 50 Classics
Dee mentioned in the goal thread that one of her goals this year was to read 12 books from her list of 50 classics. So let's read a classic with her and spur her on in her challenge.
Give yourself 3 points for each book finished
BONUS
Give yourself an extra 5 points if the book you read is in her list of 50.
2. Samantha's Goal - a meeting with the King
Samantha is hoping to read 5 Stephen King books this year. Let's make it easier for her by reading any book by this author
Give yourself 3 points for each book finished
3. Mysteries of yesteryears
For this challenge, read a book featuring one of the below characters:
- Miss Marple
- Nancy Drew
- Hercule Poirot
- Hardy Boys
Give yourself 2 points for each book that has been turned into a movie that you read
4. Spring Cleaning the Stacks
It's that time of the year when you're walking around with a broom or a cleaner. While you're doing that, look towards some of those neglected shelves as well. Read those books that you've owned the longest. If you can't remember where you got a particular book, it probably fits this challenge.
Give yourself 4 points for each book that fits this challenge
5. Fortune Cookie
Using the Dice Roller, roll any number of die - that's your choice.
Add the numbers that show up on all the die.
If the sum is a multiple of five, roll all the die again.
Read the book on your TBR that is at the position equal to the sum of the die.
If all the die show the same number, you can choose any book to read.
(For eg: If you rolled 3,4,6 and 2 (sum = 15), roll the die again. If you rolled 4,4,1,2 (sum = 11), read the book that's at position 11 in your TBR.)
Give yourself 3 points for each book read
Bonus points:
1. For every book you finish (your edition) between 500 and 750 pages, give yourself 2 bonus points.
2. For every book you finish (your edition) between 750 and 1000 pages, give yourself 4 bonus points.
3. For every book you finish (your edition) with more than 1000 pages, give yourself 8 bonus points.
And finally...
Enjoy!
