I've been following the thread about books that should be made into films and I started thinking about books that I hope never get made into films or TV shows for that matter. Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next series is a prime example. Because they take place in the book world, I don't think they would translate well to a visual media.

I'm interested to see if there are any others you can think of.

I don't want a Leviathan Wakes movie. I think the look of the Belters and Martians with Earthers wouldn't translate well. Don't want Mistborn either because I don't think a movie would do it justice.

No, doubt the Belters and Martians would be CG.

Wheel of Time. I know a lot of people who read it want some sort of series but I think it would lose everything that was cool about the magic system.

I don't want any filmmaker to touch Lloyd Alexander's Prydain Chronicles. Because Disney's The Black Cauldron was painful enough.

I think in the right hands a Wheel of Time series could be good. The problem is the right hands are unlikely to get it, and it's deffenately going to be a film not a series if it happens.

I feel like if The Wheel of Time ever make it on screen, channeling would turn out like bending in the Avatar: The Last Airbender movie :(

nailed it. I haven't seen the movie but I have seen the promo's of all the different colors and the magicyness. I just can't see anything on screen matching up with my imagination or the authors words for WOT. I think it is better left alone.

The Iain m. Banks culture novels would be a bad idea. They're on to big a scale. There will be a temptation to do this with Iains terrible news just being released.
