Totally!

Cady (halfblood26) | 22 comments I love how loyal he is to Harry. He wasn't always perfect but his heart was always there with his family and friends, including Harry.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes! I love Ro. A true Gryffindor.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

I felt that Ron became more of a "real" character in the fourth book when he is overtly showing his jealousy over how little attention he gets when compared to Harry. Up until that point he was just kind of the comedic relief sidekick, in GOF he showed something that had been stirring for a while.

Cady (halfblood26) | 22 comments And in DH when he was wearing the locket and it portrayed his insecurities and fears in an exaggerated way. I really enjoyed how they portrayed that in DH pt.2 also, I think they did that scene justice.

Nikola_TimeLordy_Potterhead | 332 comments I stalk heaps of Harry Potter websites... *laughs nervously*

...I have no life.

Nikola_TimeLordy_Potterhead | 332 comments but it's just like a short movie, nothing major and the movie is just plainly for the theme park.
But still it's a Harry Potter movie!! It's pretty exciting!

message 29: by Sinda (new)

Sinda Quietus (superwholockedtrekacrossthestars) | 2846 comments Is it just a movie you go on and sit down to watch or is it part of the ride through the castle?

Has anyone else made the connection between Rory Williams (from Doctor Who) and Ron Weasley? So..(I'm putting it in a spoiler so that people who don't watch Doctor Who won't have to read it.)
(view spoiler)
Didn't Ron mention he had a cousin or uncle or something who's an accountant in PS/SS? So my theory is that he's Arthur's identical twin, and that he's a Squib, but he isn't an accountant, that's what Ron thinks. He changed his name to Brian Williams but he still named his son after his brother (partially). Which means if Rory (or Melody, for that case) has kids, they might be WIZARDS! :D

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

asdfghjkl;
That's amazing. That's brilliant. I'm blown away. You have to be right. I'll do what I must to prove it. I'll rewatch everything-and reread-until I make it cannon. I'll write fanfiction. I'll whisper in BBC's ear. It will happen.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I know! *genius*

message 35: by Annabelle (new)

Annabelle Ron is a great character in the books/movies. I love how when the books start he's so mean to Hermione but by the end they are married. Wow now that I've stated that it's a bit weird because I would never think of Hermione to marry someone who has treated her so rudely...

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Hermione and Ron just didn't hit it off, I suppose. By the middle of the first book they were already friends, and those times were behind them.

message 37: by Alannah (new)

Alannah (Alannah_Y) | 1 comments I prefer Ron over Harry, for the fact that Harry had the responsibility thrust upon him but Ron chose to fight against it, and fight for the people who turn their noses up at his family

message 39: by C (new)

C (beyondtheveil) | 651 comments I think that the trio, in general, represent three different types of discrimination. Harry is shunned by many for being an orphan, and different (prejudice, in general). Hermione is put down for being a Muggle-born (racism), and Ron is taunted for his family's socioeconomic status.

message 40: by Pranavi (new)

Pranavi (pk441) | 12 comments They kept fighting, though, throughout the series. Harry had to keep hoping they'd make up, and they always did.

Brilliant. I totally agree. There was anti- homophobia in JK's books too. Dumbledore.

J.K. Rowling revealed during a Harry Potter event (was it a book signing? I can't remember) that Dumbledore was gay. He was madly in love with Gellert Grindelwald.

message 50: by Prashamsa (new)

Prashamsa (crushy) | 117 comments I loved the character of Ron. His jealousies and insecurities prove that he is a normal guy, and I am glad he was portrayed this way instead of showing some weak comic guy who sticks with Harry without any opinion of his own. I love how throughout the books we can see the development of his character, in the movies he is shown to be very shallow. But it is and added advantage that he was super cute in the earlier movies and super hot in the later ones.
