Good to have you, check out our UF/PNR threads, see if there's anything that interests you there.

(Trying to get somebody to post something down in that lonely corner)

Don't worry, I have no intention of advertising anything I wrote here. Mainly, I want to share ideas, hear what people think, and maybe pick up a thing or two. Glad to be here!

I went to school before the days of testing, and knowing for sure what kind. I was put in LD classes. The only way I survived school was a tutor early on and reading. And the i before e thing, that often proved a problem for me with a name like Reilly, lol. Either way, my struggles helped me to know how to deal with my two dyslexic children. I always seemed to reverse the end of words, and counting money wasn't a friend. I still struggle at times, but I know its not because I'm dumb. The majority of the dyslexics I know are very creative people.

I agree with the comment about many dyslexic people being creative; and I know a number of dyslexic people who are much more avid readers than the average non-dyslexic (which is kind of non-intuitive!).

Sayerah (fangirlrambling) | 1 comments Hey everyone!
I'm Sayerah.
I love reading, obviously.
I can read a variety of novels, mainly YA. But I specifically do not love romance, a bit in a story that's core is not romantic is good but a story based only on romance is not good enough for me!
That's pretty much it...

Isaiah (isaiah7709) | 14 comments Im Isaiah. I just joined this group. I enjoy reading books whenever I have time. I like to read sci-fi, paranormal, mystery, and fantasy. I like to write small stories and fantasy, things like The Hobbit and things with dragons. I would never get them published mostly because im 13, but I tipe on my kindle so it helps me with my mistakes. Though I RARELY mess up.

C.E. Kilgore (cekilgore) Greeting all! I am an avid reader of all things science fiction, sci-fi romance, urban and paranormal romance, (except vampire and werewolf books), post-apocalyptic, utopian and dystopic. I am an author in the Sci-fi Romance / Space Opera genre, thought I am also considering a dive into fantasy romance. While I wait for a mega-millions book deal to fall on my lap (ha-ha), I pay my bills as a web developer. I look forward to meeting you all and having some great book discussions.

Sarah Martin (sarahmartinbyrd) | 1 comments Thanks for the invitation. So glad to be a part of this group. I love to read, write, blog, play outdoors, camp, and canoeing on New River. I especially love spending time with my granddaughter. Loving life at 54!

message 117: by Kate (new)

Kate Britton (spicykateb) | 5 comments Thanks for the invitation. I am a writer of contemporary romance, definitely +18. My new book, Taming Graeme is getting some good reviews. Two of them liken it to Fifty Shades. My wildest dreams would be excelled if it were to do 1/100th as well! I love to travel and meet interesting people. I read romance (of course) biographies, mysteries, travel, inspirational genres.

message 118: by Julie (new)

Julie | 6 comments Hi - My name is Julie. Thank you Travis for inviting me to this group. I like to read a wide variety of genres - thriller/mystery, paranormal, historical, romance, fantasy and an occasional horror story. I love to immerse myself in a great book for total escapism. As far as books to movies, the movie versions of The Shining and The Firm were well done, even though the endings were different. One of my favorite fantasy movies is LadyHawke with Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfeiffer & a young Matthew Broderick.

message 119: by J.V. (new)

J.V. Carr | 4 comments Thank you for the invitation, Shane. I just published Username: Bladen, a YA fantasy novel that covers various sub-genres. In fiction, I like to read and write across the genres, so if it's a good story that pulls me in, I'm game. There's only a few genres that aren't quite like a good mug of coffee for me. Oh and I also like lots of non-fiction.

I also have a crazy house filled with kids, that's inspirational for writing. I'm happy to be a member of this group and look forward to meeting you all. =)

Bob Kat (goodreadscombobkat) | 1 comments Hello from Austin. We're Bob and Kathy Clark [The talent] and we write under the name of Bob Kat [Life's What Happens and the CUL8R teen time travel mystery series] and Kathy has written 24 books [her latest is her first self published After Midnight [A Denver After Dark Suspense Series]. We have a back list book, Goodbye Desperado free this weekend and book #2, BRB, of the CUL8R series releases in 2 weeks.

Hobbies include golf and we see at least one new release movie a week. Five boys all over age 25 [amazing given our ages are under 50 [really].

Best friends live in Denver too.

Focus for us is learning the indie publishing sector and keeping on schedule with our releases this year. We've been building a 3,800 gallon water feature in the yard [yard meaning 60% rock] and we're 85% through the movement and placement of 7 tons of rock. Whew...

Glad to be a part of the group. Active on Kindle Boards. Gotta go. Bye.
