Landon Roussel (landonroussel) | 3 comments Hello,
My name is Landon Roussel, and I am a recent author of a (non-fiction) memoir, "On the Primitive Way," chronicling a pilgrimage I took with my brother to Santiago de Compostela in Spain just before he was (unexpectedly) killed. Our journey united us together after over a decade of estrangement due to his drug abuse, addiction and imprisonment. The book narrates not only our pilgrimage on the Way of St James (El Camino de Santiago) but also our way through life, beginning with our initial estrangement in our teens and continuing on through our adult years with our coming together on the pilgrimage.

Below are links to the book.

When I am not writing, I am a happy father of two, a primary care doctor and a blogger (CommunitasBlog.com).

Look forward to learning from one another.

Angeliki (ligeia31) | 1 comments Hello everyone! My name is Angeliki Radou and i'm a writer from Athens, Greece. My first book "The Bleak Tales of Young Poe", is the first installment in a series of middle grade books, featuring young Edgar Allan Poe as the protagonist. My work is represented by a greek agent, but she doesn't have any contacts in the US. The book is already in the hands of a French and an English editor who consider it for publication but i think an american agent might find it interesting too. Do you have any suggestions? I have the entire story translated in English by a professional translator and you can have a look at the book here

Thank you all for reading this and good luck with your writing projects.

One of my favorite sites for free marketing advice is www.theauthorhangout.com. Let me know what you think! If you have time could you read I Did It For Brian. Teens: Save Our Oceans, Save The World? It is free on iTunes.
https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/id11... It is a call to action to get teens to help clean up the ocean. The characters are fictional. The links are real. Take care.

Robert Bailey | 1 comments I am Robert Bailey. Really. If you remember "What's My Line" that's how the game started out.

What I find most interesting so far in writing novels is the sense of community, like here in 'Get Visible.' Coming from business my tendency is to figure out how things work. This is Patterson's secret.

I've joined a really unusual and great writers group where I live. My book signings and promotions are off to a good start. I've narrowed my writing process, the tools and the plan. And that is a good place to begin—as it is also the title of my first book: "The Plan: Running The Machine That Runs The World." It is a financial suspense story with all sorts of clues about how the reader can (in real life) make and keep more dough.

If you are interested I'd be very happy to get you a digital copy to read—gratis. We're fellow club members, right? Here please: rbailey at abetterplan dot com

Thanks for reading.

message 61: by W.T. (new)

W.T. Fallon (wtfallon) | 5 comments Hi! I'm the author of Fail to the Chief, a comedy about the presidential election as a reality show. Here's a little about my book:

It's a Parody of Presidential Proportions.

After years of emceeing insipid singing competitions, TV personality Bryan Seafoam can't wait to host American President, the world's first reality show to elect a country's Chief Executive. It’s the chance he’s waited a lifetime for—an opportunity to be a real journalist, unearthing skeletons and playing hardball with the top ten candidates.

But it doesn't take long for the contestants to start digging up dirt of their own and throwing it back at him—literally, in the case of billionaire candidate Ronald Chump when he's challenged to dig his own moat along the Mexican border. To make matters worse, Bryan's producer pressures him to be nicer to the candidates, and his former crush, now an experienced political correspondent, shows up—and shows him up at every turn.

When a cheating scandal rocks the show, Bryan suspects it's just the tip of a very ugly and underhanded iceberg. Will exposing the plot to wreck the most hysterical—er, historic—election of all time cost him everything? Or lead to a reward like nothing he’s ever imagined?

Populated with strangely familiar Presidential hopefuls vying for the nation's top office, newcomer W.T. Fallon pens a scathing, hilarious, and spot-on critique of the American political system and where it's headed. Tune in and buckle up for the one and only "American President."

And my Goodreads page: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Erin | 1 comments Hello! I am a young designer looking for feedback on a website I am building for authors of self help books (to help them gain active readers). Self help books can really change people's lives and I want to make sure I am getting the best feedback possible - directly from the source. I cannot stress enough that this is NOT an ad or asking anything from you other than feedback! I know that authors have the most insights into what they are looking for, so I want to best build it for them! Any and all feedback would be beyond appreciated!

Ronit (ronitsbooks) | 4 comments Hi evrybody

I am Ronit Tal Shaltiel, I have written a children's book” where are the Numbers? The Adventure of the Numbers”. and added to it 3 Coloring books that are based on it.
Coloring book- The adventures of the numbers part 1, 2 and 3.

The story is about the numbers that find each other and enjoy math together. It is a book for children from ages four to seven, who are beginning to learn about numbers.

This book makes math more fun for kids. The book is an adventure of the numbers.
This book is an educational book that shows that math can be fun.

In the book I combine a story and math exercises.

In the coloring books they can color the numbers and the objects that represent the numbers.
They can see that there is more than one way to get to the same result. Book Part 1- Addition, Part 2- subtraction , Part 3 multiplication and addition.

Melissa Graham (melissa_a_graham) | 1 comments Hello all!

My name is Melissa, and I am a self-pubbed author of one. Deny the Moon is my baby, but I am working on a younger sibling as we speak ;). I tend to stay in the supernatural/paranormal stuff but have not settled on a genre per se. My Wolfblooded series (Deny the Moon and it's sequel) are pretty well locked in Urban Fantasy but I have other WIPs scattered throughout the supernatural and paranormal genre worlds (and some even in SciFi.)

I am grievously shy and introverted, so promoting and marketing myself is a living HELL, as you can imagine. Seriously, I got into writing because it was supposed to work alongside my social anxiety. I write, I publish, I don't have to talk to anyone. Who put THAT falsehood out into the ether? lol

I have a blog at melissaagraham.wordpress.com where I've kind of just been journaling my writing journey and offering tidbits I pick up along the way, as well as random posts of whatever crosses through my brain.

Deborah Clothier (deborahclothier) | 4 comments Thank you so much. It's exciting and frustrating and liberating and the feeling of accomplishment overwhelms me. The process of getting it out there for others to read is an experience on its own and as frustrating as it is expensive. But I push and as my second book is nearing completion I'm hoping for a breakthrough one of these days.

message 69: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Clothier (deborahclothier) | 4 comments I actually self published through Create Space as I have done inthe past but I'm trying to hire professionals to market for me and although it is expensive is not very rewarding. Yes my second book will be out very soon. The illustrator is just about finished with the illustrations and then we can build the book and get it published. I am very excited for that and to begin my third book.

Anyway, I also blog about books that I read on https://wordswithdestiny.wordpress.com/

Sim Alec Sansford (simalecsansford) | 1 comments Hi All,

I'm Sim and I am a writer from Dorset, UK.

Like most I have been writing since I can remember but unfortunatley I never had the confidence to share my work. Last year I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined a small local group and ended up launching my town's first-ever literary festival. It was a huge success and included both unpublished, traditionally published and self-published authors and illustrators.

This new-found confidence saw me publish my first short story online (The Storm) for which I donate 100% of my royalties to Cancer Research. I then published a short horror/thriller for young adults titled The Willow. This book is currently being developed into a graphic novel by a fantastic artist I have met and will be complete in the next few months. I am currently finishing up my first novel which I hope to release soon.

The Storm: a short story
The Willow

Look forward to getting to know you all!

I enjoy collaborating on all sorts of projects so please do reach out.

Imogen Paige (imogenpaige) | 1 comments Hello, my name is Imogen Paige and I create ‘children’s books for child survivors’.

(Please disregard if this is not appropriate for you)

My first book, Lancelottie and the Three Scares is a children's verse picture book aimed at children from abusive and neglectful households. By following the story of Lottie, children from age 3 and above will learn that, while it is scary, speaking up about what is happening at home can lead to much needed support. The aim of the book is to promote open dialogue between these children and the adults who can help them. The intent is to empower children to disclose, as well as to build understanding from caregivers and peers who may not know what it is like to come from an unsafe home environment.

Amazon is allowing me to make this book completely free for five days starting September 2nd, 2020 up until the 6th of September and I thought this may be of interest to you.
If you would like to share news of this where you can, such as on your website or social media, I would be very grateful.

This is the link to the ebook: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08GCPMVFZ
it is available worldwide and on paper back (ISBN: 9798677126789).

I am also giving away free PDF advanced reader copies to those who would like one, in the hopes that readers will be kind enough to leave an honest review on Amazon (or on Goodreads) if they have the time. This really helps to spread the word of the book and its important message of hope for child survivors.

If you would like any more information about the book or an advanced reader copy please let me know by replying to [email protected] and I will send it over to you.

Here is a link to my Goodreads page https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/1...

Thank you very much for your time and best wishes,

Lynn Helton (slynnhelton) | 4 comments Hello all, I'm Lynn.

I'm an indie/SP author in the fantasy and children's genres. To date, I've published 4 fantasy novels and 2 novellas, and 1 picture book for kids. I've got another fantasy novel releasing later this month. I'm working on 2 more children's picture books and have just begun drafting another fantasy novel.

I truly enjoy writing and I'm also an avid reader. I love animals, crafting, mountains, and playing games. While fantasy and science fiction are my favorite genres to read, I enjoy variety and like to read many other genres, too.

I'm looking forward to supporting fellow indie/SP authors and continuing to learn about this whole SP business. (And I suspect I'll also discover new books to feed my reading passion.)

The Roads Chosen by Ben Carlyle

I know the author. It's a long story.... Several years after I had reviewed his book, I met him. We are now friends. At this time and for the foreseeable future the author is offline and busy transporting household goods within the Black Sea Basin.

My review is at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

There are other reviews, far more insightful than mine.

Thank you for your consideration.

Dawn Murphy | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Dawn, and I am a fresh new amateur writer looking for some help and advice. I am primarily an artist, but I have found in the recent years that I have a knack for writing and enjoy it! A beautiful idea for a book hit me like a ton of bricks in 2023, and I have been stewing on it and going back and forth about writing it until this year, when I finally decided to go for it and start planning and writing!
I am still struggling to figure out things like its genre(s), as well as ways to get factual information in with proper credit to make my book a trusted source, or at least a believable one! I appreciate all the help and kindness I can get, as I am just a small, shy, nervous bean who is trying to write a book~

D. K. | 1 comments Hi All,

I'm D.K. Griffin, and I'm working with my co-writer on the first book in a series. We're currently doing revision number three of... where's the infinity symbol on this thing? I've got a handful of first drafts across a few genres - romantsy, crime/detective, mystery, SF, romance - and always have an LGBTQ+ focus or element in my stories. I've been beta'ing for years and do some developmental and line editing for friends.

My goal in being here is to learn a bit about marketing as I try to decide which publishing avenue I should pursue. No matter how I move forward, marketing will be key. I look forward to connecting with some of you wonderful folks and sharing our experiences to help everyone be more successful.
