I'm 22% in and I totally see why people have been raving about this book! I hated that I had to put it down to post another review that I forgot to do earlier!

This is actually a lot better than I thought it would be! I had heard tons of rave reviews but I'm really not an angel person at all, so I was worried. I love Penryn's inner monologue, though. She's just so likeable. And her and Raffe together are great, with their witty banter and jokes and such. I'm definitely liking it and I'm a little over halfway through.

I'm at 48% and (view spoiler)[I'm sitting here all nervous wondering what the hell is ripping all of the people apart! Don't tell me! But aahhh! And unknown enemy is always the scariest! (hide spoiler)]

I couldn't put this one down when I read it. It definitely lived up to the positive reviews!

I'm at 76% and (view spoiler)[I've never read a book or watched a movie where an angel wasn't even sure if there really is a God. Interesting. Especially in the way she asks him how that is even possible and his response. I love reading things that I've never come across before! (hide spoiler)]

I'm finished. It got a little disturbing at the end (view spoiler)[with the frankestein version of Paige (hide spoiler)]. I kind of wish the author would have left out the whole sci-fi part of it, but maybe that will tie in better in the next book.

I'm at 68%. And now I know her mother really IS nuts!

The book is a bit slow-paced but it wasn't the annoying part. It just introduces me more to the world building and I like the blend of dystopia and paranormal. This is convenient for me since this is my 1st angel book. I'm loving it already and wondered I didnt picked this up sooner. The reviews are justified, considering this book is made by an indie author. I like kickass heroines so I like Penryn. She's stubborn and has an attitude and I like it.

I also love how Raffe and Penryn always talk sarcastically and one always has to have a snarly or witty comeback. Can't wait for Penryn to see Paige! :)

What I love most about Raffe is that he isn't an a-hole at all. He doesn't have to be one just become a 'hot' hero. He's sarcastic, yes, but his remarks are not offensive ^.^

I liked the second half better than the first half, the explanations kinda helped!

I'm at 86% and getting really behind but I'm almost finished anyway.

(view spoiler)[I think it's hard to believe an angel admitting he doesn't believe in God. It's really odd! I forgot if all angels can see Him or if only messengers can, but still, the evidence of God is laid out. Maybe he doubts Him if that's what he means. But it's still unbelievable.

Anyway, I'm in the part where Penryn saw Paige already. Right from the start I've been wondering what the motivation of those angels taking in a human, much less a child and a crippled one. I also didn't suspected them of the cannibalistic attacks since it seems unlikely.

I am expecting action once Penryn sees Paige but this isn't what I was expecting. Just reading it disgusts me, what more if ever this would made into a film, assuming they include this scene? Those scorpion angels also grossed me. Poor Paige! She doesn't deserve this. All of them does. But I am still impressed of how the author described everything.

I still have some questions, and probably minor ones, so I hope it is somehow answered throughout the book/series. What is really the reason angels are attacking the humans? And why don't they know? Because they follow orders from a messenger? Then it is God who might be telling them? How long have they been staying and when did they first popped up? I'm getting confused because I was reading two other books so I forget some information! (hide spoiler)]

I`m glad we finally got something out of him! He kept turning his emotions off and hiding them away and then what he said after their kiss, too... I liked that we finally saw proof that he actually does care.

I read the entire book yesterday! It was really good, but did anybody else think (view spoiler)[that her sister being all cut up and sewn back together and the angel/alien things in the tanks was a little bit too much? I felt like there was so much going on in the book that those things were kind of overkill. Especially since we never got any sort of explanation as to why they were being created. (hide spoiler)]

I was kinda confused about everything that was going on. the explanations at the end helped a bit, but I still felt like I didn't have a clear idea of what was going on, and had so many questions that still needed answering.

I agree, I think the last third of the book is where it really lost be because it just got so weird with all that. I thought it was too much stuffed into the ending and I had so many questions that I wasn't totally satisfied in the end.
