Chickenstitch | 4 comments So April's book is The Assassin's Curse. Post your comments in this thread :)

Disi (danicaandrenos) | 4 comments I just finished the book and I enjoyed the storyline. I am excited to read the next book however, I'm not sure how I feel about the characters, yet. So far I think I like them but I still feel as if I don't know them well enough especially Naji. We know he went to university and was sent to "the order" by his mother but I still feel like I'm missing something. I love how strong a character Ananna is but again I still feel like I'm missing something from her. I'm not sure maybe it' because I couldn't quite connect to them that is causing the problem. I did however, love Marjani and I hope there's more of her in the next story. I guess my problems might be more resolved in the next book.

Samantha (samanyaaron) | 146 comments I finished the book a couple of days ago. The story hooked me within the first few pages and i couldn't put it down. The language in the book annoyed me at first but as it was first person and she was a pirate it would have made sense that the author would write in the way she would talk. I agree with Disi regarding the charactors, we havent been given enough information about them yet and I'm curious to know more about them, hopefully we will see that in the next books in the series.
I really enjoyed the story and the world created, i didn't feel overwhelmed with characters or places so it was easy to keep track etc.
One of my problems with the book was Naji, all through the book it seemed as though he was always injured, he was supposed be protecting her yet it was always the other way round. Hopefully we will see more character development in the next ones.

Eleanor Rooney | 5 comments I enjoyed this book, felt it was easy to get into although like Samantha the way it was written annoyed me at first.Looking forward to finding out what happens next as most of the book seemed to be 'scene setting'.
My one gripe is that Ananna is never described and I really like to form a picture in my head of what characters look like whilst I read and I couldn't do that with this book.

Katie | 45 comments Finally got a hold of a copy of this!!!! Can't wait to read and report on it, even if its a few months (or more really) late. I convinced the teen librarian at the library I work at to buy a copy.

ClaireGenevieve (badschnoodles) | 89 comments Just started this a few months late. I'm not convinced I'll finish it as the way it is written is pretty annoying, but we'll see...

ClaireGenevieve (badschnoodles) | 89 comments I finished this this evening and actually quite enjoyed it in the end, although I feel like the story is only just getting started. I don't see why it couldn't be one book instead of two, except for marketing purposes of course.
