Lynn Johnson (wonkelge) Hello to all of you out there. I see I'm a little late to the introduction party but they do say "Better late than never" so here I am. I don't know what to say, and I don't know what you're here to read about me but I can give it a shot.

I'm 25, a female, and I live in Wisconsin. Currently there is snow on the ground and spring fever is in the air. I love to read but I couldn't tell you what my favorite Genre is. My list of favorites isn't short, it isn't long, but it's always a work in progress. I go in spurts with my reading. Sometimes reading way too much (yes there is such a thing!) and sometimes going months without any interest in picking up a book.

My Mother was the one who was operating cupid's arrow between me and books. She would take me to Barnes&Noble (which was the biggest store I had ever been in) and we would look for hours for books that interested me. I started with some Dr. Seuss, some chapter books, than R.L Stine and Christopher Pike. Mom and I read Island of the Blue Dolphins together before I went to bed. I also read a lot of Garfield comics.

Whatever Mom had at home that she would allow me to read I would, and so I really like the Xanth Series and Piers Anthony. Stephen King also. In 4th grade I read Animal Farm and loved it. During Middle school and through High School was the normal school readings, and hours spent in the school library.

I feel this must be said: I started Harry Potter when it came out, and just let it go until they were all done. So I read the entire series for the first time last year. I refuse to read 50 Shades of anything because honestly, I can't believe it was published or got so popular. I also haven't read the Hunger Games, and I just don't really have any interest in those books at all, though I couldn't tell you a reason.

I recently read the Hobbit for the first time, and I've never read the Lord of the Rings series. I'm not sure if I want to after the Hobbit.
I'm slowly getting through The Wizard of Oz series and those are not what I was expecting, but good.
I love the book "I Hated Heaven" and "Lightland" by Kenny Kemp.
I'm a fan of the Inheritance Cycle, and couldn't get enough of the Sword of Truth series.

My list of 'To reread' is ever growing. I like to re-read books I've really enjoyed after a while.

Have I babbled enough?

Darliza (parentheticals) | 92 comments Hi, Lynn! Welcome. We're in the middle of a Dune discussion as well as Fool for this month's group read.

Why didn't you like The Hobbit? :)

Lynn Johnson (wonkelge) Oh I'm not saying I didn't like it, but after hearing so much about it for so long, I just didn't get what all the hype is about.
To be fair, I really didn't know what to expect and I shouldn't have read it after The Sword of Truth series, I should have read a few bumper books instead.

It's commonly argued that Tolkien is talked about most because of the worlds he creates but not necessarily the stories he writes about. Perhaps that's the reason you feel that way? I feel that way about it, for sure.

Welcome to the group, btw. Here, have a cookie!

Hello Lynn! Welcome to the group, we look forward to your posts :)

Like Darliza said we're in the middle of reading Fool and Dune, you can join in anytime in those discussions if you like.

But we're also choosing which Shakespeare play to read for May here

(There's a poll for that here

As well there is also interest in reading The Great Gatsby before the movie is out.

Happy Reading and thanks for joining :D
