New Adult Book Club discussion

I'm going to open this up for anyone who wants to discuss chapters 1-5. (which I have just re-read)

We have met Avery and get the hint that something happened to her in her past, just don't know what that is yet!! but whatever it was had made her want to commit suicide, also she doesn't have a very good relationship with her parents.

Then there is Cam... he bakes what more is there to say. :) I liked him from the start. But there is something he is not telling at this point.

The cookie conversation between Avery, Jacob & Brittany was very funny. The banter between the characters is great.

We get to meet Raphael the tortoise (hands up if when you read that part, you sang the theme tune to TMNT in your head)

These were great chapters to start the book. :)

I loved the way they met and just kept running into each other after that! I wish that would happen to me :)

I laughed out loud ( litteraly) when we were introduced to Raphael!

I loved that the characters mostly acted their age so senor fucktard was a prime example of random actions of college boys!

I was also in love with how Cam and Avery met. I like that this book has the gay friend, Jacob. I think every girl with deep issues should have a gay friend. Brittany in the beginning I thought would be annoying. The relationship of the 3 friends is great because they banter back and forth.
I think it's awesome that Cam and Avery live close to each other and the party Cam was having was hilarious. Just when I think that NA book boyfriends couldn't get anymore sweet, Cam opens his mouth and speaks and the things he says in response to Averys remarks are just amazing.

"You should get back before Raphael pees on your hand."

"Would be worth it," he replied

We also learn of a mystery person who sent Avery a very cryptic e-mail message, from first impressions I think it's the person who did something horrible to her in her past, but we learn who it is later in the book.
Also, we learn when Cam and Ollie (Senor Fucktard) asked Avery to breakfast, Ollie said something that struck a nerve with Cam. So we are learning that there may be more to Cam as well.

I really liked the chemistry between Avery and Cam in the first chapter. From the moment they bump into eachother the playful banter had me laughing out loud literally.

I also was able to picture every character vividly in my mind. The most entertainig one was Jacob and his very in your face personality.

And when Ollie was talking to Avery, I love that cam said, "What are you doing with MY girl"

I love that cam shows just the right amount of possesiveness throughout.

hahaha I even put on my status update when I first started reading, "I love gay best friends!" Jacob is hilarious, I love him.

I loved Raphael - he is a great addition to the story!
