It's time to fill our shelves with great recommendations from our readers. Please recommend your all-time favorite Mythological Fantasy book, and we'll put it on our book shelves. Please only recommend one (1) book or the first book of one (1) series. No one may recommend their own book. To make your recommendation count, look at other recommendations to make sure you aren't recommending something that's already been recommended. Remember, your recommendation will go on our reading shelves. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing our shelves grow with your favorite Mythological Fantasy reads.

You can't go past The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. One of the best books ever.

Angela (smwelles) | 33 comments Mortal Coils I'm eager for him to finish this trilogy/series. Not sure how long the complete story is gonna last since his pace is slow, steady, and thorough. There are a ton of footnotes in it that blur the line between fiction and nonfiction. He's blending urban San Francisco legends with Greek mythology in his own way. It's really interesting.

Philip Dodd (philipdodd) | 31 comments Weland : Smith of the Gods by Ursula Synge, published in 1972 by Bodley Head is a very fine retelling of the tale of Volund the smith and the swan maidens of Valhalla from the Elder Edda. It was published as a children's book, but can be enjoyed by readers of any age, and it is true to the grim, dark world of Norse myth and legend.

It's not new, but I absorbed this series when it was.
